Invites and timing

How many of you girls put 30 minutes before your actual ceremony time on your invites?

Definitely considering it.

Glad to know I'm not the only one.

I wanted to but my invitation lady said not to do it my ceromony starts at 630 so I was going to say 6 but she said that people might come at 530 and have to wait an hr

I put the actual time on my invites. I think most people usually arrive about 15 minutes early to a wedding, and I didn't feel the need to accomodate those that are usually late.

I didn't even THINK about having people arrive early and putting it on the invite! I put the actual time...

Maybe I'll arrive fashionably LATE incase there are slackers!

We're giving a 15 minute cushion.

We did. The Watermil suggested 1/2 hr early. They are having a brunch then for the guests and will have everyone in their seats so we can start promptly at 12.

We didnt but I considered this. If I was going to do it we were going to put 15 mins before. I just put promptly.

The watermill said to put 1/2 early and there is a brunch? Are you paying extra for that or is that included? I never hear anything about that.

I was originally going to put 15 minutes early on the invites.

I did.. My ceremony starts @ 6:30, and was told at hall to put 1/2 hr before..

I didn't even think about that! I put the actual time of the ceremony on the invites, but knowing me I'll be late anyway! Generally the ceremony takes about 30-60 mins, so people usually make it on time because of that...and plus, that is going to be the most exciting day of our life we probably wont even notice people arriving late! :P

No, I put the exact time on mine. Now I'm starting to wonder if that was a good idea

we did, in case anyone got lost etc i dont want anyone walking in when the ceremony started (it was a good point) &
that was actually requested by the Swan and our video guy

as well the Swan club was hanging out champagne and Bellinis while the guests are seated and waiting

I did! The hall passes out champagne and stuff while people wait for the half hour.

Re: Invites and timing

I put a half hour before. We have a crowd that tends to arrive a little late. I also think I'm going to try to start the ceremony a little early if I can because our ceremony goes right into the cocktail hour and we are taking pictures during that so I wanted as much time as possible. My hall also gives out champagne so I am sure the guests will be entertained enough. Half of the guests are staying in a hotel and we are busing them from there so we can ensure that no one from that side shows up way too early and I know my side never would. It really depends on your crowd I think.

I did :) mines on a Friday and the ceremony starts at 6:30 so I put 6 I didn't want people to be late due to traffic and work.
