Thank you guys for your honesty! I talked it over with my FH, and we decided to do what we planned originally, and that is to mail the majority, and give the rest to our close friends and family when we see them/hand deliver. In the beginning, we didn't mind the postage, but we are no longer in that position since we went over on almost everything budget wise. Those who we plan to hand them to are not the type to get offended, or care if we don't mail them, which is a relief.
In the end this is what works best for us, and saves us a couple hundred dollars, as opposed to paying almost $500 to mail them all out, not including the rsvp postage. I promised FH I'd find a way to cut costs somehow. This is a way to do that, and changing our rehearsal dinner from another venue, to a more reasonable one called Novita. Thanks again for the input everyone! They are much appreciated!
Great plan.. and I LOVE Novita!!

IDK but I dont find hand delivering them that tacky. I wouldnt find it weird someone handing me an invitation, so I guess thats why I wouldnt mind. I also wound love to hand deliver the gorgeous ones you picked out to see the excitement on their face opening it.
I agree. I honestly would look at my friend like they are nuts for wasting the money on the postage if they normally see me, be it at work, the gym, family function etc. The important thing is the invite. Who cares how it's delivered??? And if they do care, watch out, because they are going to knit pick the heck out of your wedding. You can't please everyone.
Lol you sound so much like my best friend! She said almost the exact same thing lol

Re: Invites finally in/need advice!!
I know it's hard to hear but this is why we ask questions here.. honestly, I would be pretty insulted, not so much about the hand delivery (to each his own) but I would look at your invite and be like WOW they spent a ton on these then I would think. but they couldn't even bother to mail it to me? I think that's what would make it tacky, like you decided you wanted to spend your money on making your day look special but not on the actual people who are going to come celebrate and ultimately give you envelopes of money. I'm sure nobody is going to just give you $4 so I'd put in the extra effort for my guests, you'll get the $4 back anyway.

no worries, I take no offense to anything you ladies have said. You're all giving me your honest opinions and I appreciate them, truly. :) I read everything you guys have said and decided to go with what works for my FH and I. Unfortunately our poor planning has put us way above budget, and if I can save a few hundred from something as postage, thats where I have to sacrifice a little to pay off the other stuff. I know the people I'm going to be giving them to very well, and know they won't be offended, which is why they're the only ones thats going to get them this way. The rest will be mailed. I've also received invitations from colleagues at work, and thought nothing of it. But thats just me. :) We'll be doing so much more to show our guests we appreciate them for coming in other ways, like our favors, Photo Booth, s'more station, cigar roller etc, something as little as an invitation won't put them off. But I really do appreciate all of the input. Its hard to ask friends or family bc they don't want to hurt feelings, so its nice to be able to go to this site. :)

I agree with this! But i guess everyone has their own preference. I'm all about saving money when I can - and if I think someone would be offended, then they would not be the ones i hand deliver it to.
