I invited my 2 immediate supervisors but not the President of the company (I barely see him and I don't love him that much LOL).

Re: Inviting Co-Workers
Yeah this was tough for me, i had my office manager upset with me without saying it i was getting attitude after the invites went out. I invited my 3 bosses that I work for personally at the firm, it is a big firm and than 2 ladies whom I am close with here. I had to cut the rest because we just couldn't invite everyone!

i dont want to insult anyone - but at the same time i know they arent waiting for an invite - KWIM? its not like i'm even expecting them to show up - i dont think my wedding is of much intrest to them - i feel weird inviting them and i feel weird not inviting them does that make sense?

this gave me alot of grief, but I wound up inviting who I wanted there, not who I 'should have' invited.

Re: Inviting Co-Workers
I'm inviting co-workers I've been close with at my prior jobs...people who I still see outside of work.
At this job becuase I'm a contractor I'm debating what to do. I really like my boss and another girl i work with a lot on my team...but I feel like i shouldn't invite them because since I'm not a permanent employee here it's a little awkward.
I say in terms of bosses invites those you report to directly and the people you are close with, like your lunch group.

Re: Inviting Co-Workers
this one is going to be weird for me cuz i switched depts in march and my new boss randomly asks me about the wedding....im not inviting anyone from the new dept or my new boss.
i am inviting my old boss (i worked with her for over 4 yrs) and an old coworker (who no longer works here) because i am close with them.
i feel like my current dept will get slightly offended...but oh well.

same here. I work for a few Judges and did not invite them or any 'superiors' . I am not close with them and I did not want anyone to feel obligated ( on both sides ) to come or to invite. Half of them have no idea i am even getting married

Re: Inviting Co-Workers
I'm no help-but I am SUPER happy I don't have to deal with this. We're having a DW so my coworkers understand that they won't be invited. Now I don't have to stress about picking and choosing who to invite.
yeaaah...so again...I'm no help!

Re: Inviting Co-Workers
i only invited people i saw outside of work that would be interested in seeing me get married. some people just want to be included in things, and that's nice, but if you're not involved in my personal life anyway, why would you want to be now?

Re: Inviting Co-Workers
Ugh.. this is the hard part!
I work in one office with the supervisor, 3 guys and 1 woman, across the hall is another office part of the department where the other women work. I am close with only 2 of the women... BUT I am inviting my boss and the three women... thats who I am close to and really cant stand the guys.. so i dont want them there
I know when someone got married a couple of years ago, one of the guys got really mad and insisted he was invited.. so i'll wait for the drama to begin

well the co-workers that im inviting i have socialized with them outside of work - if i didnt socialize with the lunch group outside of work i wouldnt have invited them - and my boss, he is great so of course i want to invite him - its the other people that i dont know what to do with

That's what I have decided to do also, I got tired of people telling me that I need to invite certain people because of their job title, I mean, honestly, it's my day and I only want the people I like there, not the people that I don't like and needed to invite to be PC.

Re: Inviting Co-Workers
i invited my four coworkers that I am close with. There were a few other girls that i would have liked to invite but numbers are out of control.
I did not invite any bosses. It was either all (7 with guests) or none. I went with none!

Re: Inviting Co-Workers
I work in a college and there are so many departments and I am friendly with almost everyone, but I just invited the people in my department and one from another (since I'm close with her ) They asked if they can bring a guest but at first I told them I wasn't sure since I had room issues, but I ended up being below my min. so I told them they can bring guests.
Just invite the people you really associate with, they will understand that you cant invite the entire company.
I am also sending an email for those I am friendly with that I didn't invite telling them where my church is so they can at least see the ceremony

I am inviting co-workers I socialize with outside of work since my wedding is a social function. The ONLY exception I am making is inviting my immediate boss and his wife.

Thats what I did, I felt I couldnt invite some bosses without the others so I decided on none and just invited a few co-workers I am friendly with. The numbers were getting out of control so even though there are a few others I am friendly with and would have liked to invite I just couldnt because some people had to be cut.
