I was told that you are supposed to invite all the woman who are invited to the wedding BUT that doesnt mean you need to include friend's girlfriends/dates (unless you are personally close with them). For an example, I'm not inviting the girlfriend's of the guy's FH plays softball with or works with UNLESS I have a personal friendship with them.

i am only inviting people i am close to. I don't think you have to invite everyone. I would have a bunch of strange women at my party. weird for me/weird for them!

totally agree! I HATED going to showers for people I had never even met before just because I was dating a guy that was a friends with the guy getting married.

SOFTBALL-yes great point lol, fh is inviting co-workers and ppl he has been playing softball with for years...one league is a bunch of his good friends and im friends with the gf's, wives, fiancee's or whatever but some leagues i either met the SO a few times only or some of them never bc they never come around. I know if it was the other way around i would NEVER even expect to be invited to their showers and would be surprised if i was, and like mimacat said i would even be like ahhhh i gotta go alone and probably feel weird about it

the problem is some ppl think about all the family and friends but theres some ppl not being taken into account with this

me too. there is no way every woman invited is coming to my shower...especially some of my friends and family girlfriends that im not huge fans of!

i think its hard to say bc people are having different sized weddings and inviting different types of people. my family is big so our showers are usually 50 people or more BUT this only includes close family members and friends. I think bottom line is, bride should give list of those people she would actually want there. i personally would not invite everyone attending wedding - since everyone would include wives of coworkers, my moms coworkers, gfs of people who i am not that close to etc.

see i don't know! all my family is out of state and there is no way they will be able to fly in for the shower. But I think all FH's family is going to be invited cus they live on LI. I told my sister to go over the list with his sisters and figure it out with them since they will know better than I will!
