we both know the majority of the people we are inviting. there are a handful of guests that we are having issues with b/c FH doesn't know them and FMIL wants them invited, but she's not contributing, so we'll see when we actually send out invites

No...FH has a very large family, and there's lots of second and third cousins, great aunts and uncles, etc. that I haven't met because they live OOT. Very few coworkers as well, though I know most of them. FH hasn't met a few on my side, such as my father's cousins or my mother's best friend, but we don't see them often. It's definitely going to be a 'Hi, I'm the bride, nice to meet you' kind of wedding.

He has a few aunts that live in different countries that I have not met. Chances are they are not coming to the wedding but they are FMIL's sisters so we wanted to invite them regardless.. I haven't met his boss yet either.. Other than that, we met to majority of each others guests..

FH doesnt know all my out of state friends. I lived in CA for a few years and he hasnt met all of the friends. I think I know all of his guests. There are several of my parents guests that neither of us know

Other than his work people and a few family members from Europe, yes, I've pretty much met them all.

we both know all of each other's family, friends and co-workers. Only guests one of us wont know are the 10-12 that are solely our parents friends.

Re: INVITING GUESTS....

our situation is different because DH & I used to have a long distance relationship. With our families living around 1,600 miles away from one another, we never really got the chance to meet everybody in each others' lives. So we had 2 receptions. The REAL wedding & reception was in NY where it was 80 of my closest friends & family. Needless to say, he didn't know a whole lot of people there besides my immediate family. Then we went back to Colorado (where we're living right now) and had a second reception with 50 of HIS closest friends & family. I barely knew anybody there either. I think if we would have lived in the same state and dated like a 'normal' couple, there probably would have only been a few long distance relatives that we didn't know. What better way to get acquainted than a wedding tho?

I do not know all of the guests FH is inviting- about 50 people on our guest list are business associates or friends of FHs that live either out of state or out of the country. On the other hand FH knows all of my guest with the exception of 10 family members that live out of state.
