Inviting yourself to someones wedding?

Original post by Notwedyet08

I'm starting to think; people must not realize that they're doing it...

If i get another person who asks myself; FH or the both of us when the wedding is; cause we need to let them know or when they say let us know cause that's gonna be a great wedding. And WE know we haven't put them on our list?

Now i'm thinking it's probably totoally innocent on their part; and thinking oh shoot; have i ever done that? LOL!

Our rule of thumb was/is if we havent seen or spoken to someone in a year they are not invited to the wedding. That includes if they received a STD and then the same happens from now till the wedding ... no invite. It doesnt make sense to do so!

are he & my FH related. our list grows by the minute, he literally will invite someone he hasnt seen in years after bumping into them on an elevator, but like legit 'babe here is so & so's name and address' ... i tell every one 'its an intimate affair' :)

Everyone ask us when we are getting married - I just say November 2011 and walk away. When asked how is planning, ' Great - thank you'.

FH and I try our best to keep wedding convo to a minimum with outsiders/ coworkers because we dont plan on inviting them at all. However, we cant stop blushing when discussing with our parents and family members.

My mother use to always say ' If you dont want uninvited guests into your home - dont let them in' .... Keep it simple and private and you will be fine.

This has happened to us several times. I politely say that costs are high and that close family are currently the only ones we can afford to invite.
