Fairway in Plainview has a decent selection. I buy my bisto and Cadbury there.

Thanks mlp

Do you know a place where you can get sausages and pudding?

Re: Irish ladies

Fairway has the sausages but I'm not sure about the pudding. I'll ask my friend Mary because she comes down from upstate to Woodside once a month for the sausages.

Re: Irish ladies

what are you looking for - my local butcher / deli place (Ballynahinch market!!) carried sausages, rashers, pudding, butter, candy - I am in Long Beach, but DH works in Plainview if you want me to pick stuff up

Irishbride-where are you looking? LI? NYC?

My MIL runs up to Woodlawn (or is it Yonkers?) for her rashers, puddings, etc. I can check with her for specifics or see if she knows any other shops.

I know she's ordered from foodireland.com and been happy with service and product.

HTH!

P.S. Where's everyone or everyone's families from? My grandmother was born and raised in Sligo town. DH's family is from Ballaghaderren (Co Roscommon), Donegal town and Belfast.

You can find sausages and pudding and other items) in the Key Food in Floral Park and right down the street in Richhie O'Shea's Irish Shop in Stewart Manor.

Its frozen, but I think its hard to find it fresh.

We've been to Fairway and asked about the sausages and the butcher couldn't tell us. where in the store are they?

My husband is English, and he is always looking for home comforts. We went to a place in Port Jeff that sells Chippolatas, and bangers but they are pricey. Do they have a different taste than Irish rashers?

Sorry to jump in, even though husband isn't Irish he likes the sausages.

Irishbride,

Did you know that there's a diner in Lynbrook (a bit east of Harrow's, I think it's after the Dunkin' Donuts too, on Sunrise Highway) that has a great irish breakfast? I don't eat it, I don't like black and white pudding or beans but FH had it and said it was the best he's ever had over here, better than what he gets in Woodlawn.

As for stores, Kathleen's of Donegal in Rockville Center. It's on Park Ave between Sunrise Hwy and Merrick Rd.
Kathleen's of Donegal

Or try Sean's quality deli or the Traditional Irish Bakery on Katonah Ave in Woodlawn (Bronx). I think Prime Cuts will have the meats too they are a butcher also on Katonah. C-Town (again on Katonah...see the pattern? ) has frozen sausages and galtee meats too (but not all the time). They also have Batchelor's Beans and Heinz. They have a decent selection of Irish drygoods too.
