Some things we have done for the wedding: FH is in Emerald Society so they will come pipe and drum for us Irish Band called Summerwind for jigs and reels Pots of Shamrocks for favors... just wondering if anyone had any ideas on a cute saying to go along with favors. Also anyone out there incorporate some Irish Traditions that I am not thinking of? Thanks.

Re: Irish Weddings
My MOH had an irish themed wedding in May. She did bottles of baileys (small ones) and invitaitons that had claddaghs on them (she got them from now & forever) They also had bag pipers from the Emerald Society play before dinner! it was really nice!

I was thinking of having step dancers during dinner to surprise my FI, but I have nto gotten any leads yet. If you heear of someone let me know. We hired a piper for the mass and we got our invitations printed with a claddagh.

Call around to the stepdancing schools. They should be in the phone book. Do either of you have pictures of your invites?

Re: Irish Weddings
My FI and I are both Irish and we are incorporating the following traditions into our wedding.
1) Bagpiper at church. (we have not booked one yet so if you know of a good piper please let me know :) 2) Celtic wedding programs. We are designing these ourselves with celtic knots and a claddah. The claddah has a sentimental meaning to us so we will incorporate it through out the wedding. We will add a few quotes from a book I read named 'Irish Wedding Traditions'. This was a great book with nice ideas. 3) Claddah unity candle holder. 4) Back in the day in Ireland the bride carried a horseshoe for good luck. I have purchased a rhinestone horseshoe charm and I am attaching it with Blue ribbon on the base of my bouquet. 5) My friend from Illinios has an Irish stepdancing school. He has offered to perform an Irish step dance at the wedding.
I may add a few more things here and there but it is not likely to be very noticable. My FI and I will know.
Try the book I mentioned above. It had some cute ideas. FM me if you'd like to chat.

Re: Irish Weddings
I am Irish, FH is part Irish. I am not sure yet of what Irish touches we are going to do.
I know that my Mom is getting me the Claddah unity candle. We bought Claddah wedding bands when we where home in May. I would like to do an Irish favor of some sort but I havent seen anything that I like.

Re: Irish Weddings
What about the song 'Gown of White' for father daughter? It's by Pat Roper. There is a cd called 'Irish Wedding Songs' available through Rego Records. They have a website.
I was thinking of doing a claddagh ornament as my favor. My FI is not Irish, but I think the sentiment is perfect for any wedding.
