Is 1 yr. 8 months too young for FG?

I would love my niece/goddaughter to be my flowergirl for our wedding in July 06, however, she will only be a year & 8 months. Is that too little?

I am thinking I'd have her walk with 2 older fg(?) or what else can they be....they will only be 4 (too young for jr. bm)

My ringbearer will be 7.

How would I walk them down the aisle? What order?

Thank you.

That's pretty young. But its your wedding, and if you'd love seeing her there then I think that's what counts. And having her go down with other older girls would be a help.

I think it might be okay if she's walking down with the other two. I've also seen little ones pulled down the aisle in a decorated wagon by the older kids.. it looks really cute!

I dont think thats to young. My cousin just got married and her niece was 2 years old.

To be honest I had a 2 year old boy for a ring bearer and he did not make it down the isle or for any pics.

Mine (the youngest) would be just one and carried by her mom. Do what will make you the most happy. The rest is irrelevant, IMO. One tip from our planner. PLAN AHEAD for the transfer of small kids (ie under 2 years) -- they will not stay still for a 30 min+ ceremony. So for example...my sis would walk the baby down, hand to her dad on the other side who will then hand off to designated person to carry her out to another room quietly. I hope that makes sense.

My niece and nephew are twins. They were around the same age when they were in our wedding. We had them be pulled down the aisle in a wagon. They were adorable. I have a site where you can get a little tux and FG dresses for that age. If you are interested let me know. I definitely do not think she is too young!

Our newphew was a year and 10months and we decided that was too young. They don't understand it at that age...and don't usually listen about where to go...but it depends on the child too.

IMO...that's a little young. They don't really understand what they're doing and they may not want to go down the aisle. Plus, they may not want to cooperate with pictures. You know your goddaughter better than me so if you think she can do it go for it. She will look really cute in the dress.

My niece was 1 yr 9 months at my wedding, and she walked down with my MOH and another flowergirl and she did great

See, I felt the same way that the age might be too young and I hear that majority need the assistance of an adult. We are contemplating the same thing for my future nephew who will be about 2 1/2 and even that age is making my decision harder. He is a terror as it is and does not listen. With my luck,On my day he will throw a temper tantrum. Aside from that, I dont like his mom too much.

Anyways...............It is up to you. Having an adult hold their hand or even if you have a ring bearer who is a little older that can help walk her down. I know it is cute to see them come down.

the wagon idea is a hit lately. My fiance is a videographer, and he sees that all the time. I think that's what we're going to do with my nephew who will be 2. (unless he's running around by then, and out of control which is a possibility)

It really depends on the temperment of the child. I was going to have my 2 year old nephew be a ringbearer but given his frequent temper tantrums and fear of crowds, I decided against it last minute. I've been to many weddings where toddlers of this age have done just fine. My niece was a FG in my cousin's wedding at 20 mos and walked down the aisle great!

My daughter was 22 months at the wedding. Our other FG held her hand down the aisle (she's 5). She did surprisingly very well and even kept her headpiece on for a full 10 minutes!
