Honest opinions....is that a lot to ask of my BM's?
I found a dress I LOVE, but I feel like it might be too much...
I don't want anyone going to the poor house over my wedding!
(PS - I asked one of my BM's and she - of course - said no....but I know they wouldn't tell me if it was)

Jess - until I found this BM dress, that was totally the look I was going for. I love it. Simple, elegant, reusable.
I think I might have to go back that direction. Also, I'm not sure if I look back in 20 years if I'll even LIKE that dress. I LOVE it now...but who knows.

Yeah - I forgot about the shoes. Good point. I'm not having them get their hair/makeup done (only if they want to), but you're right.
And I always have a guilty conscience so it would haunt me.

yea that's why I posted that one, I remember all the other ones you said you liked. Ok not all of them but the styles

I think if they can wear it again it is NOT too much. ANd, I think they can wear that dress again. I spent $170 for my cousin's wedding and the dress was fugly and I'll never wear it again. I would have gladly laid out an additional $80 for a short dress like that that I could wear to other weddings in which I was not a bridesmaid.

depends on the dress and what your girls can afford mine are 130 and 180 ( 180 for plus size)

What about Bari Jay ? Some of their dresses have that ruffle look. They also have alot of dresses that look like they can be used after the wedding too.
ooh thats cute too. It makes me want an italian ice for some reason. The color combo reminds me of rainbow sherbet

My BM dresses are $330 - BUT - They are getting 15% because I ordered them from Bloomingdales and they give a discount if you are registered there. And then they give 15% off if you open a charge, so one girl is going to charge them all and they will pay her back. And then, I am paying $75 as their gift. In the end they will cost them under $160. So my point is, where there is a will there is a way! And it is your wedding - if that is the dress you want then you should have it. My BM's didn't pay for my shower, and I am not asking for specific shoes or hair or makeup, so I think even just asking them to pay full price still would not be unreasonable. Good luck!

I think it is on the high side...i would say $250 max with alterations....
bm's usually have to add in the cost for shoes, accesories, hair make up, shower, gifts etc.....

I've spent up to $500 on bridesmaid dresses. I am going to try to be under $200 but i think the ones that my sis (MOH) and I love are around $250. So we'll see

the ones my bridesmaids and I like are around $250 and i felt really bad but they are all ok with it..so what im doing is searching for the place that has it the cheapest, and so far i think its phillis of bridal elegance which has them for $210

Thats not too bad, but just keep in mind the BM's have to pay. You dont want them to get fustrated
