thinking of holding our ceremony at 9am instead of 10 because i don't want to feel rushed from the ceremony to the reception which starts at 12 noon.
whats your thoughts? do you think people will mind?

I'm stressing over an 11:30-12 ceremony so I think 9 is too early. You're going to have to be up at like 5 am to do your hair etc...and people have to travel. I say leave it at 10.

I'd say leave it at 10 for your own sake. You are going to up before the sun rises to start getting ready and that might stress you out and you might be exhausted before the day even starts

Yes 9am is too early. I agree with the other bride-if i was invited to a 9am wedding i would most likely go to the reception only

9 am is really early for a wedding. Personally unless it was a close relative or friend I would skip the ceremony.
You will probably have to be up at 4am to start getting ready.

I went to a 930am ceremony and it was excruciating to be up early and dressed and drive out there, then kill a couple hours till the reception...We were EXHAUSTED by 6pm.

Keep it at 10... As some of the other girls said you will have to get up really early to get ready and most people probably wouldn't go to a 9am ceremony,

yea, ITA. 9am is really early for a wedding. most people take a long time to get ready for weddings and since it's generally on a weekend, asking them to wake up at the same hours they do for work (if not earlier) is asking a lot.
so i'd probably only attend the reception.

To be honest, a church might not give you that time. We ran into that problem because we wanted to do it at 10. The church said they keep that time open for funerals. They wouldn't marry us until 11 because they dont wane wedding guests arriving at the same time people for the funeral are leaving.
You might want to check first before booking your RH if this is really important to you.
eta we're now doing it at 11:30 a.m. with a noon cocktail hour all at our RH..pictures beforehand.

Re: is 9am too early for a wedding ceremony?
9am is really early... BUT then again it is your wedding - so if you're going to feel rushed, I would say change the time to suit your needs. This start time would also give you more time with the photographer for photo shots with your bridal party/ FH and possibly give you more time with guests in the cocktail hour in the end; which would make your guest feel that much more closer to you on your wedding day. You're the bride and it is your wedding day - Usually close/freinds and family attend the ceremony - If they're already planning on attending, chances are- if you are that important or if they are that important to you that they wont mind making the little effort of a difference of one hour to attend (i.e. they're already on planning on spending their day celebrating with you). If its too much too ask for they can always settle for just attending the reception. I may be the minority here but the reception is really for thanking the guests for rejoicing with you on your special day and i'm sure you've already given special consideraton regarding favors, food, entertainment etc. The ceremony is more about the couple and their union - so if its going to make you a stress free bride - you should do what's best for you and i'm sure your closest friends and relatives will surley follow. - Hope this helps. =)

Yes, I think 9 is too early.. You may get a lot of people that skip the ceremony and go straight to the reception....
