Hi ALL! We are getting married next May 2010...but I have the venue and rabbi booked and we are looking at bands right now. Is the year going to drag on if we have everything booked soon???

No, it's a good amount of time. I was engaged 9/1/08 and will be married on 9/18/09. Most girls book and plan MUCH longer in advance....we still had a wonderful array of vendors to choose from and our RH even offered a discounted price since we booked with less than a year to go.

not at all!!! i have a 2 year long engagement, 1 year i think is just enough time to get everything done

I don't think so, I have been engaged since december 2008, and the time is flying by!! only a year and 3 months + a few days to go :)

Our engagement will be 1 year and 4 months. Luckily we started saving before we got engaged, but not a whole lot. FH and I didn't want to wait that long. He was going to try and convince me to get married in September 09 because we could have got a great discount, but i didn't want to rush everything....

We are going to be engaged a year and 4 months by our wedding date and trust me it has flown by. So a year is not long at all.

Not at all! By the time we get married we will have been engaged for a yr and a half. I hope to have all my major vendors booked at the one yr point in May (which I should!)

We will have been engaged for 17 months when we get married. We got engaged December 2008 and are getting married June 2010.
I don't think a year is too long at all.

The more you book sooner, the more you can worry about details later. I was engaged 4 years. I decided to start planning about a year and a half out because I live out of state. I thought I would have PLENTY of time, but life happens and before you know it you are behind. I just booked my florist this week and I'm getting married in less than 2 months. I think it's a great idea to get started now!

It will fly by, in fact, it may not even be enough time! Mine is going to be like 2 weeks shy of a full year and a half, and I haven't even been engaged a year yet and I still have sooooooooooooooooooooo much to do.

No, ENJOY being engaged! Take your time planning and just enjoy it. A year is just the right amount of time, if you ask me.

IT will fly by we thought it would go slow my FH kept saying we have more then ayear he just reliazed that it is less then a year and is freaking a bit now lol

We had a 7-mo long engagement and there was never a moment's rest lol....I think a year is the perfect amount of time to enjoy being engaged and plan a wedding!!!
