Okay, so I'm totally stressing about money. My fiance and I are paying for everything, and we're saving and doing well. We have around 11g's saved so far, and our wedding is August 1. I hope we save enough!

Definitely!! I just got a new job for more $$ but won't start until 4/1. there were nights I couldn't sleep worrying about money.

Good God, Yes!
I told me FW.. no matter how muc we save.. it's not enough to make me feel totally secure. Sure, we can do stuff to help ourselves further.. but until we're in out new place, the Wedding bills are paid.. I won't feel comfy at all... and who know about even after that?.. LOL

This morning FH said now we really have to start saving...and I almost choked him to death!!!!
I spend $1 a day. ONE DOLLAR ONLY!!!! I could have killed him. All of my extra money goes to my bills and everything else goes into savings...our wedding account does have a nice balance though, and my dad is helping, but we're still covering a majority of it. And I am in college at night and I just had to pay my tuition plus books only a month ago...

I think we are all in this boat, my biggest concern is that I hope I dont look back and think was the money well spent or will I regret it.

That's all we talk about! And 'they' don't tell you that not only do you have to have money for a wedding but also for a new home too - paint, furniture, bed, etc .. and now it looks like we need a new car before we get married too ... Oh and life doesn't stop either - we have Weddings and Christenings and Baby Showers to attend too ... it always seend to work out on paper and then 'poof' the money is never there. I mean we save X amount a month for the wedding and we try not to touch it. But it doesn't leave much extra to do all the other things mentioned above! UGH, so frustrating!

Absolutely... Fh got laid off right after we got enegaged. Unemployment only goes so far. I am pretty much the sole contributor for this wedding. So everyday unbelievably stressed!

same here.
we are paying for the bulk of it, and it wouldn't really be all that bad had i not lost a job 3 years ago and had to take a lower paying one to get by... i may also be out of work again in the coming months – not fun.
we also are a little older and want to start planning for a house and family right away. we are looking to make many a large purchase in the next few years and i just sometimes can't justify $pending all that we will be $pending on just one day.
we are cutting back A LOT on items we don't view as important, but still it's hard to achieve a balance between spending a 'reasonable amount' and having an elegant affair...

yeah, we're stressing!!! i just got my student loan sheet and it is at 31K!!! that freaks me out. we are both making little money and want to move into a place of our own, with what money, we don't know. i have saved for parts of the wedding, but believe me, it isn't easy and i hate it!

I know how you all feel about the money. WE are also fitting our own bill. But did anyone have their parents offer up money and haven't come throught yet? Mine did!!!

Seriously you spend so much time on the wedding day, what happens the day after?
I am moving from the city to LI, I've lived in the city my whole life, I don't DRIVE!!!! HELLO??? SO on top of trying to find a place to live, plan a wedding, work two jobs, have a relationship, keep in touch with friends and feed the dog...NOW I have to learn how to freakin drive...
But ya know what.. there are worse things... Just remember one thing..it always manages to keep me sane...
Whatever the heavens wish...will be..
So relax, stay focused, and believe that no matter what, you'll manage to get it done..

YES!!!!! Everyday I think about what we need and what we can afford. We saved some money but it isn't nearly enough to cover ALL the exenses
