Re: is anyone a vegitarian??

I was for a long time. I started at about 11 because I was disgusted with the thought of eating animals and cruelty. I started eating chicken/fish later on in my late teens. I started eating red meat again shortly after. I always give up all meat during lent, and I go back and forth with going back because of all the steorids/hormones and the treatment of animals.

It's bad but i just CRAVE meat too much now!

You might want to rent Food Inc.

There are places - not many, but there are some places - where animals are raised in pastures and have actual lives and get to do things that animals do, and are fed the kind of food that they would normally eat. They do get slaughtered for their meat, yes. But they lived a good life, and are free of the steroids and hormones that are pumped into animals that are born and quickly shuttled to a slaughterhouse.
It's more expensive, but you can buy it with a good conscience. You may find that living in PA might actually make this easier for you to find, since there's so much more land available and therefore, there may really be some small-time farmers out there.

While I am very active with the animal rights movement, it would be completely silly of me to live idealistically and think that vegetarianism is good for all people.

Let me know if you have any questions. Vegetarian Starter Kit - it's free!
