I only have a sister who is 15 months yonger than me and she is EVERYTHING to me...She is my MOH and best friend.. I always wish I had more siblings, but come to think of it, I love the fact that I have just her too.. I wouldn't want to share her with anyone..

I don't have a sister either -only a ne'er do well younger brother covered with tattoos that I adore. He lives in Texas and is useless when it comes to wedding planning. My BP fills that void for me - they are as close to me as a sister would be and I love them all dearly....

I am the only girl so for planning a wedding, it is kinda like being an only child. What do boys care about planning a wedding? I do have my wonderful sister in laws though, and one of them is actually my matron of honor who is like the sister I never had!!

My best friend well was my best friend for almost 20 years is not ALLOWED to speak to me anymore.
She is dating a very violent and abusive BOY.. Yes boy.. She is 25 he is 19.. and he doesn't allow her to contact any of her friends and her parents have no clue about this bc he isn't like this when they are around. I sent her cards, emails calls to her mother and I get no response..
One day she said THERESA I can't speak to you.. It gets me into trouble and I can't take it when he is angry at me.. He violence has had her in the hospital too many times..
She stays..
So there was my MOH...
I have plenty of girlfriends and couisns to be BM.. But no one special like JEN!!!
What can I do?
NOthing.. Situation is hopless. She likes the way her life is with him.......................
It makes me so sad.. We use to be 2 pea's in a pod... We didn't do anything without each other..
Life goes on!

Her parents are busy with their own lives and as long as Jen is happy and well taken care of what can they say..
I mean the physical abuse is there.
He broke the cartliage (sp) in the front of her nose and it dropped and became flat. She had to have reconstructive surgery to fix it..
She told her parents she was in a CAR accident and when into teh window..She has all of the excuses ..
U know how Domestic Violence goes..
But he bought her a new car and they like things like that..
I gave up..
She doesn't want to be helped!

That is very sad. Its hard to lose a best friend adn know that she is living such a terible life.
I have one sister who is 22 months older then I am. She is the best. She helps me with everything involvong the wedding. I always wanted more siblings but as I got older I realized that having one sister is the best thing in the world. I couldn't imagine life without her.

That is a terribly sad story. Some girls are so stupid - i just dont understand why anyone would tolerate one ounce of violence but you cant justify idiocy.
I have a brother and he is practically my best friend. No sisters.

I have 2 brothers (and 2 sister-in-laws) that I ADORE!!! I also have 1 sister that is the GREATEST...she is so thoughtful,talented,smart she is just the best and I thank God for her.
I am so upset about your friend. Domestic violence is such a terrible thing and noone should have to live through it. I'm so sorry her family doesn't see it. I would never let a loved one go through anything like that.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Unfortunately, when she is ready she will get out and go for help. I hope she will be safe until then.
I am an only child but my FH is a best friend to me. He is very involved in nearly every aspect of the planning. My best friend is a bit more removed b/c she recently got out of a long relationship (7+ years) and wishes she was getting married. My mother is also so excited and wants to be a part of all the planning. Nonetheless, I wish I had a sibling. I always sort of wanted one, but as I get older I wish I had one more and more.

I have an older brother who is married! I absolutely love my sister in law. We call each other the sister we never had (she is an only child) so she is naturally my maid of honor! She is already on the look out for me for dresses! Too bad I'm not going to start looking until the summer or probably later....I am very fortunate though to have such a sweet sister-in-law. My FSIL is cool as well.
I'm so sorry about your friend as well. That is so horrifying to me. I just don't get it how people stay with someone who treats them like that. I will pray for your friend.
