I am leaning towards having my sister and my best friend as Co-MOH's b/c they are both going to be doing the bulk of the work (all of the other girls I would have as BM are scattered across the country; best friend lives on LI, sister lives here in DC where I am). I mentioned to my mother that I was thinking of doing this, and she had a mini-flip out over it.
Has anyone else done this and if so, what was the thing that made you decide to go ahead and designate 2 of them?

my moh is my sister, whom is my best friend in the whole world. my fh's only sister is the matron of honor. since she is his only sister, i wanted her to have a role too, since his brother is the best man.

Thank you guys so much! It's a tad more complicated than just ticking off my mother... one of the girls I will be asking to be a BM used to be friends with my BF who I want to ask to be the Co-MOH (we all grew up together), but they have drifted apart, so my other worry is that if I ask the one to be co-MOH, the other will be offended, but she doesn't live anywhere near the Island or me here. So who knows.

I had a similar prob... except it's that I'm not close with my sister. My mom forced me into having her and I made my best friend MOH also. My sister doesn't help me out at all, and I knew she wasn't going to, but my best friend is amaaaaaazing. My mom flipped out, but I said too bad, it's not her wedding, she needs to deal. I went ahead and had both and I wouldn't change it.
