A BBQ is a great way to get everyone together and it is definitely less costly.

Re: IS ANYONE ELSE NOT
We're having one only b/c I think FH's family is kind enough to foot the bill, but nothing fancy!
Plus, personally I would feel akward getting everyone together at the church to practice (which is probably gonna be arounfd 5pm-dinner time anyway) and then say 'ok, thanks everyone--- go home and find something to eat for yourselves!!!' LOL I know, I'm a softee but I'd feel bad!! I'd probably just invite them over for pizza at my place if I had no money, last resort. :)

Re: IS ANYONE ELSE NOT
my FMIL was going to host ours...we don't know where she planned to do it... but now she says she wants nothing to do with the wedding so we're not sure what to do. my parents are already putting SOOO much money into this wedding. they are paying for basically the whole thing so we can't ask them.
if we do something, we'll do it ourselves, however money will be super tight and the wedding is in march...if the weather is bad i'm not sure what we'll do...if it's nice we'll have a bbq with hot dogs and hamburgers.

Re: IS ANYONE ELSE NOT
We wont see each other for a week before the wedding so coordinating a dinner for the night before with our HUGE family and BP and trying to make sure we dont bump into each other is just too much of a pain in the *SS!!
I am going to have dinner with my family and he is going to have dinner with his.
We may do something for the BP only, the week before, on the last night we see each other.

Re: IS ANYONE ELSE NOT
My FH and I initally planned not to, but after months of seeing our loved ones shower us with love, support, time and gifts, we felt the need and want to show our appreciation. It doesn't have to be expensive...a BBQ or luncheon is fine....
