I'm just wondering is anyone is in the same boat as me. It's just hittng me now how much this wedding is costing and I'm starting to really freak out about it. FH is positive that everything will be ok, but i can't just hope for the best for the next 17 months! All I think about is all the $$$ that's gonna be due next year around this time and it's really scaring me because what if we don't have it? Maybe I'm just over-reacting but I'm just hoping for some of u to tell me this is normal and that it gets better...i hope

stressing isn't even the word..
FH has it all in a pretty speadsheet what we have to save in the monthes ahead.. but lately the money that is supposed to go to the wedding fund just goes to the credit card companies...
I'm flipping out...& it's not even me spending all the $$

I am stressing over every thing. Everytime I make a payment it is just a reminder as to how much this day is going to coast and to how much we have to save

Girls, I totally hear you. It is stressful thinking about where all this money is going to come from. I think they key is to set a realistic budget and stick to it, even if that means sacrificing something. FH and I set a budget of $15,000. We will probably go a little over, but we got a great deal on our hall (the bulk of our budget) and our band. My hall provides the flowers so that is minimal, my mom is buying my dress, i'm borrowing a tiara, my cousin is making my veil, etc. etc. they are ways to do this cheaply. I refuse to get caught up in this thousands and thousands of dollars being spent for ONE day. It's great to have one special day, but I would rather save that moeny and put it towards house. I am a little worried though about things like the rehearsal dinner and bridal party gifts that I didnt' really put into my overall budget. But, it will all work out.

Absolutely!!!! My dad is helping us a little bit, but we have to pay for everything else ourselves. We're even thiking about getting a loan... XOXOXO Kitty

OH I definitely AM! On top of all the vendors, you have to save up for all the little things like favors, placecard holders and stuff like that!!! ugh! I'm so stressed about it!!

I’m stress about the whole situation as well. But I don’t think it would be prudent to take a loan out. You don’t want to skimp out on your special day but you also don’t want to go into debt. Try and find a middle ground (which I have had a problem finding).

i am so stressing already, my parents are paying for most of the hall well 150 people anyone after is my problem along with limos, flowers, DJ, my dress, which i spent more then i wanted too but couldnt not get it, since it was perfect! my FH just doesnt want to hear about the $$ yet!!
ah and dont forget Tips need to not forget to save money for that too!! ahahhahahaha

I'm in the same position. I'm adding it all up and freaking out, but FH is so confident and convinced it's going to be ok. I would like to believe him, but I don't want to be in la la land either

I havent started stressing.....YET! I think I will be a bridezilla come this time next year! We havent really gone over our budget b/c we are really sticking too it-but we shall see what happens at 07 starts to roll around

beyond stressed about it... we're putting down all these deposits and i'm trying to figure out where the rest of the money is coming from. and with me student teaching in sept with no money coming in at all.. i have no clue

I agree with what everyone has posted.
Not only is it stressful, but I am a strong proponent that the future is more important than one day... I mean, I would much rather be able to live somewhere on our own than to be broke before we even started just to have all the extras at a wedding...
also, FI and I were at a dinner and a couple was sitting at our table... They were married 63 years and saw we were engaged, and they told us 'Just make sure that you worry more about the marriage and less about the wedding.'
