i hate even thinking about the money thing ...sometime it just ruins my day thinking baout how much money we need to come up with in the next year!
When my parents got divorced they asked me and my sister what they want us to save for college or a wedding we both picked wedding. College you get loans you pay them off a wedding everything is upfront so i'm so glad i picked wedding. I should have said a house.. lol

Thats great Megan!! I completely understand. FH and I dont want to live like that either. I think it is wonderful for those who buy houses and are so happy. I cant wait for that moment. But I know personally FH and I cannot afford it right after we get married and even if we slightly could like you said...we dont want to have to worry about expenses all the time. But thankfully the apt we are going to moveinto about FH's parents house has its own deck and enterance and it is soo big- it is 2 bedrooms living room seperate kitchen and a big bathroom. So we are lucky. But FH's parents are older anyway and will hardly ever bother us up there anyway!
Where is Orange County? That is great if you can get a house there!!
I give you girls a lot of credit who are paying for the wedding yourselves and buying a house. With all our parents are doing for us we are still having trouble finding a house we can afford on this damn island..

I think a lot of us younger brides are in the same situation. Thats great though, that you get to live in that apt for a while. That'll give you a great opportunity to save money. Are they asking you to pay rent? Even still, probably a lot less that anywhere else would ask!
Orange County is about an hour and half-2 hours upstate. If you've ever been to the Woodbury Common Outlets-thats in Orange County.

she's doing good! they bought a rat-terria (sp) named orea very cute.
My sister was smart she took the wedding money and put it towards her house and had a small wedding. But thats not me i want a big wedding.

saving suuuuuuuuuuuucks.
I'm baaaaaad at saving and FH is terrible too (we enable each other to be irresponsible.....). It's been pretty rough and we make decent money as well.
I'm counting down the days until I can stop scrimping.![]()
This post is so timely, I am surely stressing about money. We are about to move into a condo probably this summer, that we did not expect to be ready until the fall, so that does not make matter's better

I stress all of the time about money. I just finished law school (yesterday!) so I have never had a full time job and have not been able to save anything. Actually I love in debt and have a negative income taking out loans for school and to live off of. This summer I will be studying so in August I have to start looking for a job. I am really stressed because FH and I are paying for the entire wedding ourselves and I can't even BEGIN to start saving until I get a job after taking the bar. Plus I have so much money in student loans to start repaying which is going to be ridiculous. FH is also in school right now and not working so the only money we have saved for our wedding was whatever we made for our engagement party and we spent that to put down deposits![]()

Well thankfully I cannot complain...cause FH's parents will not accept rent $ from us. They refuse because they said they would never accept $ from their child haha and plus they ahve the space and do not want a tenant living there anymore so...It's ours! I am exciting!! It will def help us save $$!!

You are so sweet! I am really interested in family and matrimonial law, but I might not be able to do that for my first job I just need money. LOL. I definitely don't want to do corporate law though![]()

Yes yes yes. omg ..... like some stated earlier.. you try and save and then something happens... where is the catch up mark? it is becoming very stressful. i have been trying to keep to my weekly budget of putting money aside and it jsut isnt happening.
