Is anyone else wearing sneakers?
I am wearing sneakers all day. I know a lot of brides who are wearing shoes to the church and then changing into sneakers for the reception. I don't see the point in buying new shoes to walk up and down the aisle in. I know the sneakers MIGHT show up in some pictures, but I don't care. Anyone who knows me won't be surprised! Any opinions on this?

I think it is ok. I am wearing shoes to the church but that is only because my sister just got married and we have the same size shoe so I did not have to buy new shoes. I am wearing sneakers for the reception. I will not be bothered if you see the sneakers in any pictures either.

Is anyone else wearing sneakers?
I wore my shoes almost the whole day but my mom got me pretty white slippers and towards the end of the reception I put those on. I didn't spend a lot on shoes for the same reason. Looking back at all my pictures/video you never once see my feet! Be comfortable but most of all be yourself!

Are you serious?
I have no problem with comfort but I think there are other ways to feel comfortable without wearing sneakers. I suggest you purchase some comfortable shoes early, break them in around the house or something and wear them for the wedding. Do you want to worry all day about whether or not your sneakers are showing? But of course, when it comes down to it, you have to do what suits YOU.

What about hem of your dress?
Won't the dress either be too short when you are wearing the shoes & too long when you are wearing the sneakers? Unless you are wearing flat shoes, that is.

A tip for breaking in shoes.
I wore a pair of Nina Comforts and danced all night in them. I broke them in by wearing them around the house for a few weeks with sweatsocks on. It worked for me! But of course you should do what you are comfortable doing. Just watch the length of your gown if you plan on changing shoes.

What about hem of your dress?
I'm worried about that too. I don't want my dress dragging all over the floor! I want to wear shoes for as long as I can comfortably, but I would like to have a pair of Keds just in case.

What about hem of your dress?
I was thinking about wearing sneakers for the reception but then I thought it might be tough to slow dance or dance in general with rubber soles like that?? Any input?? Also wear can I find Nina Comforts?? I'll try anything And to the bride that mentioned ballet slippers it all might sound nice and sweet. But they offer no support for your foot for the entire day. Be careful!! Good luck ladies Laurie

Nina Comforts
I bought mine at Hazels in Bayside but they are available in Macys and I think Lord and Taylor has them too.

What about hem of your dress?
If you plan on wearing sneakers ALL day and night then you need to wear the sneakers for your fittings. Your hem will be off if you try to switch back and forth. My opinion, (and again just mine) is that shoes should be worn for a religious ceremony, unless you have foot or leg problems. You would be surprised on what shows when you are dancing and walking in your dress. But if sneakers is totally your style and you cannot imagine wearing any type of 'regular' shoe than do what is best for you. I will probably have a pair of keds in the bridall suite to put on at the very end of the night if I feel I need to. But I plan on wearing my shoes for 99.9% of the day/night.

I wore sneakers.......
After my first dance, I changed into sneakers. I bought a cheap pair at Payless, which were SO COMFORTABLE!!! I tell you, if you plan on doing a lot of dancing, I highly recommend having them. NO oNE will notice at all. Anyway, its YOUR wedding, so be comfy:)

Slippers...
Just a word of caution with slippers. Be sure to get ones that have a rubber sole on them. The suade type soles can be pretty slippery on the dance floor!

I wore white cowboy boots
It certainly may not be everyone`s taste but it was mine. They actually looked great with my dress, although you couldn`t really see them. It wasn`t as if I planned to go around showing everyone but when I stepped off the altar, I was holding the front of my dress and everyone at church saw them....I got so many compliments, everyone kept wanting to see them at the reception. My feet kill me in heels, I have a neuroma (problem with nerve between 3 & 4 toes) and there is no way I could wear heels all day. As you can probably imagine, I didn`t own a pair of white boots before the wedding, nor have I had any use for them since but we have them on the top shelf of the wall unit in our living room as wedding memorabilia LOL Plus they were great to dance in. Bottom line, do whatever you want, it`s your wedding and this is certainly one of those choices that affects no one but you. Best wishes to all.

Elizabeth-love the cowboy boots !!
Where did you find the cowboy boots? I've looked all over on line, but I haven't found all white ones. My FH originally wanted to where cowboy boots, but has since decided to where dress shoes, so I thought it would be funny if I wore cowboy boots. Thanks in advance. Jen

The boots were just regular white cowboy boots. The 'western wedding boots' are lacey with a thin heel and definitely not my taste (and wouldn`t be anymore comfortable than regular shoes) The boots I wore had a 2' stacked heel. Jeng, I purchased them on line at www.sheplers.com but that was at the end of 2000. I was on their site this Christmas to see if I could get the same pair in black and I noticed they no longer carry them. I do know that another place I looked at - www.westernranch.com - also had white boots. I was able to slip my orthotic inserts into them and was so comfy the whole day. LOL! My photographer actually took some 'artsy' shots of the boots which came out really cute. Enjoy!Welcome New Vendors
