Re: Is anyone else working today..
Someone I used to work with thought he was funny, one day at the office we hear a big boom (something outside fell) and the guy I worked with knows how I hear alarms I am gone, so he turned his computer on really loud, and played some weird alarm and i grabbed my bag and was heading for the stairs. He fell off his chair from laughing so hard. I told him I hear alarms I am not sticking around to find out what they are for. I hear alarms, good bye, have a nice, day, get home safely.I told my parents rest assure if there is every an emergency in the city or fire believe me I will be as far away from that scene as possible. I will be on the train or in a cab going home.

Re: Is anyone else working today..
That same boss, on 9/11 when we all wanted to just get out of manhattan (and this office is in downtown as well so we needed to get out of there, like everyone else) he said, I'm sure they're not aiming for this building!! He was completely unreal!!I just left that job a month ago - thank GOD!!
Edited to say: chippa, I am with you! There are those who stick around to tell the story and those who find out the story at home, while watching the news - I'll watch the news!

Chippatrid you are hilarious
911 there was a director here (not my director) but he was in the halls saying no one cares about our building the safest place for us to stay is here.
I was thinking he is crazy. Last place I need to be right now is inside any building.
People just really think differently.

Re: Is anyone else working today..
I'll agree to that one, I'll watch the story at home on the news. No need for me to be at the scene.I lost a very close family friend to 9/11 and he was outside the building helping people and was running back in helping people to safety and he wasnt trying to be a hero he just wanted everyone out to safety before he could leave. (he was a PA worker) and I admire him for his bravery, but me hells no I'll watch the story at home.
