We're getting married on a Friday evening & our reception is over at 12:30 AM at the Chateau Briand, we have a pretty good 'party crowd' attending & we want to continue the party afterwards. We're staying at the Fox Hollow Inn that night, does anyone know of any good places where we can continue to party at that's not too far away????? Thanks!!

Re: Is Anyone Having an 'After Party?'
We had a Post-Wedding Party the day after our wedding since we had a lot of OOT guests coming from all over the world, Australia, Hong Kong, Canada, Malaysia, Russia, and various states in the US. So, we wanted to spend more time with our extended family since we don't see them often as our wedding ceremony was in the afternoon with an evening reception. We had our post-wedding party in my in-law's house in East Meadow where it was all over the house for a few hours. It was great to see everyone in a causal atmosphere to get both families acaquaited.
I'd bought 8 1/2' X 11' wedding theme paper to print invitations and included it with our wedding invitation. It was a lot of fun and everyone had a good time.

LOL! I was reading this thread going - wait, I thought Niecey/bridetobe was already married?? Why is she saying she'll be staying in her wedding dress for their after party? I was totally confused and then realized this thread was from August and that Theresa had dug it up from somewhere!

Where is the Wyndam Hotel??? Does it have a bar area?? I am also having the same problem. I'm getting married at Westbury Manor and cocktails start at 12:30pm and reception ends at 5:30pm on Sat night. I definately need somewhere to go...
Otherwise, I am going to have to ship my guests to Queens and hang out at a dingy bar. And I definately will not stay in my wedding dress in that case, don't want to get beer scum all over it.

They all have back rooms and you can hang out, dance and drink there.

My reception is over at 6PM... I think I am going to hire a limo bus (since we arent getting one for day cause the wedding/ceremony is in the same place) to take us to Claudios in Greenport for some live music and MORE drinks!!! Let the party continue!!!!
And yes... I WILL be in my dress

Re: Is Anyone Having an 'After Party?'
Whether we go to a hotel bar or a real bar, it will be cash as you go. I am not paying for the guests drinks...figure I spent enough on this wedding and bought them drinks all day. They can all buy me a drink.

Re: Is Anyone Having an 'After Party?'
On this topic DH & I dissagreed heartily ... I wanted 1 -2 hours in the members bar at the Hamlet & he wanted to go back to the Wyndham to the bar. We wound up doing both!
We invited all of our guests back ... approx. 50 -60 came ... to the Hunt Room at the end of our reception. When we got back to the Wyndham, the bar was still open, so we hung out w/everyone there until about 3:30 AM!
AND I WAS IN MY DRESS THE WHOLE TIME!
What a blast! I'm glad we did it that way ... gave us a lot more time to spend w/everyone than just calling it a night.
On the subject, I've been to 2 weddings where the after party was in a suite ... it was great! They brought in beer & some food & we partied all night!

Re: Is Anyone Having an 'After Party?'
We live in the city and our ceromony will be held here but the reception is at the Milleridge. Since we are providing bus service to and from the reception we decided to have our after party at a bar in the city. Everyone can continue to the party close to home!!
