Is anyone having their pets in their wedding?

Original post by lkc2183

I have two dogs that i would love to include in my wedding, however my fiance is totally against it. Granted they are not tiney cute little lap dogs, i have a boxer and a bulldog, but still, tehy are my babies. I'm trying to think of a way to include them with out them actually being there....

Re: Is anyone having their pets in their wedding?

I was going to have my dog with me the entire day but I feel like I will be constantly looking for him and making sure he isn't running off somewhere (we are getting married on the beach). The other problem I have is that even if he comes for the ceremony and pictures I do not have anyone to take him back home because the wedding is 40 minutes away from where we live. If it were 10 minutes then I could have someone take him home but I don't want someone to miss an hour and a half of the wedding to take him home and come back.

We would love to have our golden retriever at the wedding, but my mother would die first, and I don't think the church would allow us to. Instead, we are using all different pictuers of her as the table numbers at the wedding.

\\

Can you tell me what photo editor you are using and what font style is the text on the pics?

I cut and pasted the pictures into powerpoint. The font size is 70, and the font names starts with an S, I forget which . If you search under me or the topic 'table numbers' you will find my posts about exactly how I did it. Don't have it here with me, so can't remember.

Will prob do all black and whites, and then will print through ofoto (kodak) with the ragged white border

who could be scared of a bulldog!

AHH those faces.

I have a mutt (lab/beagle mix) who will definitely be in our E-pics and some Day of Pics. I would want him at the ceremony, but FFIL is VERY allergic, and even though we hope to do it outdoors, I don't want him to be unfomfortable.

ahh bulldogs!

I wish my dog got the whole 'leash' thing, but for some reason when you put one on her you practically have to drag her down the street (we are working on it). So I don't think walking her down the aisle would work too well.

yea i think guests would be scared of my pitbull! LOL LOL
so we're doing pics of her as table #'s
check them out!!
she's such a model!

LOVE IT! No chance of Bailey posing with numbers, so we have to superimpose the numbers on. But then at least we can use super-cute puppy pics!

Omg..your dog is sooo adorable. What size frames are you using? I'm doing this also but wasn't sure what size I should make the pictures.

Your dog is a model!!! You should make some money off that face and get her into doggie modelling

Re: Is anyone having their pets in their wedding?

ok dont crucify me for my post...
i think it would be more tasteful to just incorporate your animals into details like table numbers, custom cake topper, maybe on the programs...someting like that.

i dont like the idea of having animals at the chirch or the reception. the marriage is between you and your fiance not your animals. animals are not people...they are not children.
i have two cats that i am obsessed with but they are my pets not my kids and therefore do not belong at a wedding. and dressing up animals to me is like cruelty. they dont belong in clothes..thats what fur is for..it just makes them look silly and they usually know they look stupid because they look at you with those sad eyes asking 'why are you doing this to me?'

as for what to do with pets...if your wedding is in the day and you will have someone to pick them up ;later, you can check out petsmart..they do doggy day care which is like $20 for the day and you can pick them up later that day instead of boarding them overnight (thats if you or someone is available after the wedding to get them). i do think the pet stores board them though and they might be cheaper than the actual places that are just meant for boarding. i know there is a boarding place on deer park ave though.

We're going to bring Darwin (our mini schnauzer) with us to do our epics... then we're going to use those pictures to do our table numbers...

Also I'm having a cake topper made by Nicole Wong that will have the both of us and Darwin on it!! (She makes them custom... everything from your hairstyle to your dress to FH's tux details... so cute!!

Then we're going to take pictures with him before we go to the ceremony. FH actually wanted him to be the ring bearer but I'm pretty sure that would be a disaster.

We're both sad he can't be there!! He is definitely our baby!!!

We haven't figured out about frames - I think probably 4x6 silver ones, but we might also just stick the pictures in the little number holder the place gives... What do you think? I feel like maybe buying 17 frames is not the best use of money.

Re: Is anyone having their pets in their wedding?

We're definitely taking some epics with our bulldog. I really want to take some pics with him that day, but he's like velcro dog so i can probably only do it while we're getting ready. Lord knows he'd be in my lap in my wedding gown...he thinks he's a lap dog even though he's 50 lbs. Part of the problem is my parents have a dog too and I don't know what we're going to do with them while we're all getting ready at the house let alone for the rest of the day.

I'm seriously thinking of starting pet sitting services for people who are getting married because when there's a wedding all the people you trust are involved/invited and who the hell is going to be able to drop off a dog somwhere will they're dressed to go to a wedding?
