Is anyone making there own menus? I need a template :)

If anyone is making there own menus (cards or booklets) do you mind sharing? I hope to make my own but have no idea where to start. I need to pick the proper paper and only have about a month to make them. If anyone has a template, do you mind emailing it to me? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

what Im thinking about...

I got an idea from another board to create it in word so you can fit 2 menus side by side lengthwise...use nice paper and then cut down the middle...I may also attach a ribbon to the back...

what Im thinking about...

I am getting my menu paper from PaperDirect.com and they will match the place cards. I bought their software which is full of templates that can be used in Word, Word Perfect, etc. It worked great for the place cards, but I found I was better off using Publisher 98 and measuring the margins by hand from the paper (actually a flat invite). They turned out beautiful, and very professional looking (according to my FH). Paperdirect will send up to 15 samples for $5.00, which they credit you back on your first order. I found it was easier to call the 800 number to order. I also saw that Michaels had paper supplies that could be used, but I liked the fact that the Paperdirect papers are all formatted to fit through the printer as a normal sheet of paper. If you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask.

Yabbobay ~ hoping to spare you some work!

You're having your reception at Land's End, right? Well, before you go through the trouble of creating your own menus, check with them. I got married at Flowerfield, and they supplied us with absolutely beautiful menus. : )

FYI- Yabbobay

I went to a wedding at Lands End and they had menus there(that is where I got the idea!). If you did not already check into it, I would ask them what they cost. If you can do it cheaper yourself, and have the time to do it, I would go for it! Good luck!! Continued success to all...

JennRenee and Heather

You guys are right...they set up menus...but what I was thinking was having an individual menu on everyone's plate... too much work???

yabbobay

maybe they could make extra, it never hurts to ask! As far as the work goes, I don't think it will be too much (in fact I'm thinking of making them myself too). It may cost the same amount to purchase the materials. Good luck! Continued success to all...

Yabbobay ~menus on plates

If you have the time, I think it's a very nice touch! Adds a little something extra. : )
