Why is it traditional to miss the CH? All the weddings I've been to, its church then picture taking in the park or whatever, then pics at the hall w/ family then chill in the bridal suite until CH is over.....which sometimes means a looong wait...
Why is this a tradition? I was ok with it until I realized that w/ sunset at 6:30 we'll be done w/pic in the park, (ceremony should be done by 4:30 or 5) which gives us 1 1/2 or more for pics at the park.....then a 30 min ride to the hall...means we'll have another HOUR for more family pics and just basically waste time (CH starts at 7:30)...
Am I over reacting? Will the photographer need more than 1.5 hours? Or is that the average time for BP pics, romatic pics etc...and then another hour for family, me & him, etc at the hall? Is that a good thing to have this much time? Or is my BP gonna choke me for making them miss the CH...am I gonna regret missing the CH? Or is just so cool to have that BIG entrance? confused...
Jeez I'm tired just thinking of it...

We'll definitely be attending our CH, but may miss the first 15-20 min pending upon picture taking. I love what types of food we're having and I don't want to miss out on it and neither does FH!

I NEVER would have wanted to miss my cocktail hour!!!! First of all, all of these people come from all over to see you and it's bad enough you barely get to see them during the day. Get your pictures and everything else done prior.
In terms of the 'big entrance'....that was done in the ceremony. Slip in to the cocktail hour and slip out..... Then you can make your grand entrance and ENJOY your reception!!

No. We are going to be at our CH. FH is doing pics with his side b4 the ceremony and I will do the same...after we'll do our pics and then it's off to the CH.
I think traditionally CH was meant to keep guests busy while bride and groom did their pics
