I am trying to cut down on costs somewhere and it would save me $250 not to do flowers in the church. I could cut another $60 if I get rid of the pew bows (but I like them - $10 a bow). Will it look too bare? Is anyone else not doing any decorating in the church?

I'm not doing flowers in the church. I am either going to make my own pew bows or get them off of Ebay. I saw 6-8 nice ones on Ebay for $15. The only thing I am concerned about is the runner down the aisle.
What is your concern abotu the runner? where to get one? Or if your church allows it ( most do, some don't.) or if you can afford it?
Are you getting a limo? Sometimes they throw it in or you can request it from them- not sure how much it would cost if its not part of your package.
Whiel a runner isn't neccessary, it does make the church look more 'bridal', so if you just have pew bows & a runner if will still look decorated.
Ohhhh I thought the florist brought the runner. Thats what my mom said happened at her wedding (but that was YEARS ago). So I was worried that if I didnt have a florist at the church then there would be no runner. It is allowed there and my parents are covering the church costs.
I never even thoguht about it untill I was in a wedding 3 years ago. I didn't know where it came from. I thought the bride bought it. I didn't ask, maybe she did, but when I looked into limo packages I saw tht at least around here, they usually offer it . All Star does, that's who I am using. I have to check with the church if its ok, though.

When my sister got married, she was getting married around 3:00 and there was another bride after her. Instead of both of them decorating both times, they decorated the church once with flowers and split the cost. It's one idea.

I just did pew bows. We saved money that way. Believe me, no one is going to notice if you have flowers there or not.

Nice. My question was that I didn't know who supplied the runner but I am using All-Star Limo also so I guess that answers the question! Thanks.
Now, another question - my florist is charging me $10 a pew bow. Is that alot? I just saw some on e-bay for much less but I have to 'fluff' them.... huh? What does that mean?

I am not using anything. I wanted to cut the cost of flowers on the altar and thought about pew bows for some of the pews, but FH said he hates them, so I dropped that as well. Who knew a guy would have such strong feelings about a pew bow? LOL

Ha. That's funny. But also who knew that those bows could be so expensive (it doesn't sound like a lot but if If can get 12 on ebay for $15 than why am I paying $60 for 6 from my florist)?
Has anyone bought them from e-bay?

We didn't decorate at all but I think it depends on the church. Our was Roman-esque so it actually looked out of place to decorate.

I am not decorating the church and I never considered it. The beauty of my marriage and vows is enough for me. Corny, Corny!!!

I'm contracted for ceremeny flowers...but we have since changed plans and moved from the reception hall to a church. The church is absolutely gorgeous on its own and I don't want anything else added to it - no flowers, no pew bows. Nothing. LOL
Jordan your church is so pretty. Is it in the city? It reminds me of churches in Brooklyn.

Thanks...the church is St Patrick's in Bay Shore...apparently it's a replica of a cathedral in Rome.
