I didn't do them. I told people verbally and in letters, and I sent my invites out well in advance. You don't need them, unless, I think, your wedding is during a holiday weekend.

Save the Date stuff is not mandatory, save your money! We're doing them because we're having a holiday wedding (Memorial Day weekend). If it were a regular weekend, we'd skip it.

We're not doing them either. Everyone who is invited will know the date. I plan on sending the invites out earlier than the suggested 8 - 12 weeks.

I did them because my wedding is a few days after Christmas, busy traveling time..so I thought it was a good idea to give people a heads up. I sent those out in January, giving them almost 1 year notice!

We didn't bother b/c most of our guests are local. There are a few that have to travel, but most are in our bridal party (or we speak with them regularly.)

I've only received one 'Save The Date' and that was for a wedding up in Newport, RI during the summer. It was a destination wedding for all of their guests and during a busy season, so we all needed to make early arrangements.

I did my save-the-date on our favors we gave out at the engagment party. I made little tags and cut them up with the creative scissors. It worked out well.

we are not doing STD's - instead we are sending out engagement announcements only to those who won't be invited to the wedding (or cannot attend) so that they know as well

I planned on doing them just for out of towners and never actually got around to it. Now it is too late- I have the stuff sitting on my table, too!

I think it really only has to be done if it is a holiday weekend or someother busy time.

i didn't either! like paintbrush said-i think it's only necessary if it is on or around a big holiday weekend--

no offense to anyone who did it because they are really cute, but i didn't think people would want a magnet of us on their refrigerator. if they are so important to us they better have the date in their head! lol
