Is anyone NOT staying at a hotel after the wedding?
My Fiance is trying to save a buck by not staying at a hotel on our wedding night. After all we are spending on this one day, I feel we should stay somewhere.
He feels that if everyone goes back to the hotel, then we are going to have to pay for the guests drinks at the bar on top of getting the room.
Is anyone else having this problem?
Is he being cheap, or smart?

We are in the process of buying a house, and are hoping to have the closing before the wedding, and moved in. He wants to stay there. I would love to stay at the house, maybe that is the best.
We are thinking of postponing the honeymoon, so thqat is why I was thinking that the hotel would be nice for the first night because we might be home every day after that.

We're going back to our place (we've been there since 2001) but we're going to make it fun. Have rose petals and candlelight and munch on the goodies left over from the vienesse hour. I think it might be very romantic for the both of you to spend your first night as a married couple in your home - you can make it extra special.

we are not b/c we are leaving for our honeymoon @ 7 am the next day so we will have to be up and @ the airport by 5 anyways- so we figured it wasn't worth it! Plus we just moved into an apartment that we really love!

We are trying to save some extra $$ also and are going back to our apartment!! Seriously it'll be around 1 when we get home and our flight leaves at 8am the next morning. Obviously we have to be at the airport way before that so why give some hotel $$$$$ to use there bed and literally nothing else when I have my own nice big comfy one at home??!?!

I think in your case since its a new home and everything, going home after would be fine!
In my case, there is no way in hell I am going home. My neighbors are loud and annoying. I am looking forward to the night away from them!

We are staying at home that night, in our bed. We are staying an extra day for our HM in a hotel with the money we saved.

FH and I agreed we're going home getting some rest and getting ready for the limo the next morning for the airport (we need to count our cash and make a bank run)...our day ends at 7pm we will be exhausted...but my parents are talking after-party I'm like give me a break already...our wedding is 130-7pm and my day will start around 5am...NO AFTER PARTY...we want to go home and relax!

hey, i just posted the same topic yesterday!!!
i'm not staying in a hotel. we already live together and just want to go home to get ready for the honeymoon the next morning. plus it's probably going to cost a lot.

We went back to our new home and it was fabulous!
My bridemaids decorated our bedroom and there were rose petals everywhere, a bottle of champagne and chocholate-covered strawberries in the fridge!
They also had Mr and Mrs pillowcases on our pillows with our names on them!
So cute!

We too went back to our house - DH was living there already so I made our wedding night my first night in the house - it was really nice.
Then b/c we too delayed our HM we stayed at Oheka Castle the night after the wedding and it was awesome.

we plan on staying at out apartment the night of the wedding. We wont be going on our honeymoon till a week after because we are going on a cruise.

We wanted to save too so we are going home that night. It's not such a big deal since we are leaving for our honeymoon the next afternoon.

We're going home to my apt. The closet hotel to my house is very expensive. It was my idea to stay at at the apt and use that $$$ toward spending $$ for the hm. Plus we figured we could sleep in later at home rather than having to check out so early.

We live with our parents, so if we don't go to closing on the house by the time of the wedding, he still wants to stay at his house with his parents!!!! argh!
