I was going to wear my grandmothers pearls, but now I'm rethinking the whole thing. My dress is strapless with a sweetheart neckline, beadwork on the top, my hair will be down, and the veil has pearls and rhinestones on it. I think that a necklace will be too much with all of the above.

i agree that would be too much. i don't have my dress yet, but i really can't see myself wearing a necklace. i'm more into dangly earrings!

I'm not 100% sure but I'm thinking that I might not. My gown has a bolero and I feel like it would just be too much. If anything, I'll wear a simple strand of pearls.

im not but my dress is a high neck.. but sounds like your dress has alot going on.. i would recommend just a nice pair of long earings!

I am not wearing one. I'm going for very simple. My usual style is as such and i think would look like I was going to a costume ball and not my wedding if I went that far out of my comfort zone. A nice pair of dangly earrings and some cuff bracelets and i'm good to go....not doing a headpiece either..maybe a flower?

I think earrings are a good plan with everything you described! I am wearing my grandmother's pearls but I don't do earrings, my hair will be up, veil will be very simple....so I think it will be perfect and understated.
bare necks are beautiful! I think I'm just going to get some nice earrings for the BMs and have them with bare necks!

I was thinking about not wearing a necklace because I was having trouble finding something that matches. I found something that I really like. I think that with your hair down and beading/sweetheart neckline you will be fine without a necklace.
