feeling really strange about moving out?!?!? I've lived with my parents my whole life and the thought that I have to leave in 3 weeks is really difficult for me, it's like I'm uprooting my life and I'm not a kid anymore, which I know, but I feel like in the span of a few hours everything will change, nothing will ever be the same anymore, and it bothers me.....I guess with all the drama and stress, it's just really getting to me

C'mon, there's more than 3 things that can be made in the microwave. I am the microwave professional. That's what FH always gets on me about when we talk about registering. He asks if I even know what I need half of the stuff for since I just need a microwave anyway!! The worst part is that it's so true

it's funny but i don't own a mictowave, never have. we have a toaster oven, but no microwave.

You know, I was scared when I finally moved out of my moms house.

But when I lived with my mom I paid bills. I cleaned the toilet, I paid my way. So it was much easier to move out..but still *the* scariest thing I did in my life. It took me to 27 to do it, so I get it.

Yes, this is going to be shock. But think of what your gaining right? Yes, you go from little responsability to ALL the responsability. The challenge is facing it with grace and humor.

You WILL have growing pains. You will have bumps. But you will also strat to feel that it IS your home.

So all you ladies, dont be sad. Be excietd for the new chapter, and being able to be on yor own and stand on your own 2 feet!!!

I still live at home. I will definitely miss it. But to be honest, I cant wait to move out and live my life with FH.

Omg omg omg omg. I am sooo scared of this. I have lived with my parents since the day I was born, I commuted to college, and fh stays here so when I move I'm going to be bawling.
I don't want a grown up room I like my room with my all white decor, stuffys on the bed, a,d all my stuff on display that tell my life story(photos, plaques, awards, etc)

I'm getting teary just thinking abt this.

Wow, this post comes at a great time.

FH and I moved in together this weekend, last night was our first night in our beautiful apartment- my dream apartment....and yet I was having an axiety attack!

It was SO weird to know that I wouldn't say goodbye to my Mom in the morning, that I wont be coming home to see her after work. I thought, what happens if my parents get sick- I'm not there. It's alot that went through my mind. FH was great and very comforting. I guess it just takes time. I live 10 mins away from my family and he's about 15 from his....THANK GOD. I can't imagine moving cross country or something.

Mind you- I've lived on my own prior to this (moved back with my parents to save for the wedding) and went away to college....there's something so final about living with FH and it got me thinking about all the changes and life events....its alot!

Yeah the good thing is I will be about 5 minutes from my parents. He is 2 hours from his. Not sure how he does that. I mean I did it when I lived in DC but it was a rented apartment that I knew was for 3 years. Buying a house away from your parents is much more permanent.

yes its bitter sweet..... on one hand I cant wait to live with FH, but all ive known is living with my mom, and iv beeen spoiled bc it lol it will def be hard

Thanks so much for all of the great advice ladies, youre so sweet, I feel like, i stay there during the week or weekends and then go home, and it's strange because I feel the same way, I'll wake up alone, not see my parents when they get home from work and I'll really miss my pets, it's a hard thing to think about but I talked to FH for an hour last night and he made me see that it's going to be an adjustment for us but we'll be TOGETHER and that's the most important thing, and today I feel better!!!

i'm not gonna lie.. it was hard.. and it still is.. i stayed away from my parents during college.. and i moved back in the last year and i stayed at home.. a month before my wedding, i was a mess.. b/c i had family coming over and they were staying for a few months, so i had move my stuff.. it was just like can't it get worse?? i had to learn to live with DH, because being home and being on your own is so different.. my parents are about 45 mins away.. but it feels like its an eternity away.. and my parents miss me too.. we see each other every other week or so..

but you'll make it work.. you learn how to live with AND love DH and of course like you said, be the adult.. figure out things.. and believe me, you will appreciate your parents and even love them more.. everything they taught you and everything they did for you, will come back slowly.. it's a rite of passage.. and its a good one..

I am so sorry you feel that way, but everything will be OK! The relationship that you have with your parents will not change, mine is better than ever! Smile

I know how that feels, I dont have any family here except my parents and my sics, the rest is out of country so we are really close... luckily, FH and I moved to the top apt of my familys house.. lol so we arent to far, and I just love it
