ok, ladies i keep stressing over my girls dresses. i originally had them in red gowns with a purple sash. i just really think the red is going to be overpowering. my gown is ivory with hints of gold and lots of beads and crystals. i am getting married in a church but it is an evening reception at the deServersky mansion. i love the idea of black and cream or champagne--but i can just hear everyone saying it's too morbid. what colors would you do for flowers? have you seen this combo done in person?look in my album for the pics of my gown and theirs. thanks girls. xoxox, krystal
No way. I'm doing black dresses for my girls. That's an old school idea that black is 'morbid' or you can't do it for weddings. There are no color rules anymore so go for what you want.

Not morbid at all, it gives you every option imaginable to make it bright and exciting, of the 5 weddings I have been to 3 of them had their BMs in black

Re: is black too morbid for a wedding??
Hi there....I am using black dresses for my bridesmaids with an ivory sash since my dress is ivory. I drove myself crazy wondering if black was too morbid but its not. It is elegant and classy and if people don't like it - oh well! It is timeless and will never go out of style.

I wanted black because i thought it would look classy and would be something that all 9 of my bridesmaids could agree on. My bridesmaids told me no, that they wanted to use color. They are opinionated

I think that black in OK in your case because it's an evening wedding and because it's April (not too close to the summer).

I went to a church wedding where the Bms wore black and it was beautiful! Amd its neutral so you have more options as to what to do for flowers. I say go for it!
