ok, ladies i keep stressing over my girls dresses. i originally had them in red gowns with a purple sash. i just really think the red is going to be overpowering. my gown is ivory with hints of gold and lots of beads and crystals. i am getting married in a church but it is an evening reception at the deServersky mansion. i love the idea of black and cream or champagne--but i can just hear everyone saying it's too morbid. what colors would you do for flowers? have you seen this combo done in person?look in my album for the pics of my gown and theirs. thanks girls. xoxox, krystal
i don't think black is too morbid - i rather think it looks classy!!!

Re: is black too morbid for a wedding??
No my colors are black and pink. My BMs are wearing a black dress with a pink sash. My sister was like no way b/c its a June wedding and an afternoon wedding. But in the end I'm getting my way and my sisters now like my color choices. So go with the black your BMs will love you for it. HTH.
I think it will look very elegant. I originally wanted black but I'm having an afternoon wedding...

Re: is black too morbid for a wedding??
We're actually using the same colors just visa versa. We're having a wedding weekend w/ a Black Tie Preferred Sat. night wedding in June. I thought Black was too dark for June & I want my girls to Pop. We went with a Bill Levkoff in Euro Champagne , and a long black sash. The Men will wear a black tux w/ black vest & tie, w/ a champagne shirt. My FH will wear a black tux w/ a white vest & tie.
All the Men will have white bouts, the mother/gramdmother flowers will also be all white.
I think my bo-ks will be:
mine: White sweetheart roses, Cream roses, and pale pink peonies
MOH: White Sweetheart roses, cream & pale pink roses
BM & Jr. BM White sweetheart roses, and Cream roses
I'm thinking about going with Black top table cloths since my venue only has the floor lengh in ivroy. I think it might add a lil drama, variation since the plates are white, and we're going with white & cream flowers for the CP, then the ivroy napkins to tie it together..

No way, it's totally classy. I am doing black BM dresses w/ champagne sash. Check my photos out. I love the look, especially for a winter wedding. It's not too heavy, or dark in my opinion. If it was a July wedding, thats another story.

Re: is black too morbid for a wedding??
we did black/champagne dresses and used a mix of black and mango mini calla lillies. The black dresses honestly makes everything easier and most people feel comfortable in black.

Re: is black too morbid for a wedding??
I'm doing black with white accents and it is classy...the only time black is morbid is when the bride is wearing black
