we werent making fun OR harassing ANYONE'S DH on here. we were simply laughing at our own experiences. i gave my opinion on how I felt about an unsnipped penis b/c i would think that maybe the OP would want an women's opinion about seeing an unsnipped penis in a romantic relationship setting

ITA- I didn't mean to insult unsnipped, but as you can see ,the men who aren't are in a SMALL minority in this country , so seeing something like that is rare, not the norm .

I was referring to the penis' s I personally have seen more then the statistics , and in this country 90 % 30 years ago was the population I personally saw as well as MANY of the women in on this board as we are in our 20's-30's .

It really is a complicated issue. I don't know what to chose so I just caved and decided to just let my husband decide if we were ever to have a boy. My husband didn't even hesitate when I asked his opinion. He said, circumcise. So I guess we will when the time comes.
My Uncle was born in another country where they didn't circumcise and when he was in a nursing home in his golden years, he got an infection and they had to circumcise him then. So I guess it is cleaner. And better to do it when they wont remember it.

I was just reading the Nov 08 issue of Parents magazine and they published that two new studies show that circumcision reduces a boy's future risk of HIV by 65% and HPV by 36%

They didn't go into any further detail on the studies, they just published this lil blurb but I thought I'd share!

My DH is snipped (thank god), and if our Lil one is a baby boy, then he too will be circumcized!

My DH is snipped but if we were having a boy we would NOT have circumsized him for many many reasons.........

You should do some research about circumcision and the pros and cons and base your decision on that and not do it just because your DH is...............


ETA: Hygeine wise an uncircumsized penis is no less cleaner then a circumsized one.....The American Academy of Pediatrics no longer 'reccomends' routine circumscision.

i agree. i think if you're going to have this done it should be an educated decision - not just because 'everyone has it done,' etc.

also, i'm pretty sure hospitals ask you before they do it - they need your permission for every medical procedure - they'd be asking for a malpractice suit if they didn't.

ETA - the problem with infections when they're little usually comes from separating the protective membranes in an effort to 'clean' everything (which actually just lets all the bad stuff get in). in my opinion nature put things where they are for a reason - it's not gross or whatever, it's just the was it's supposed to be and there should always be a reason why you'd change nature (even if it's religious, etc. as long as it's thought through). btw, dh is jewish and circumcised and i'm not sure what we're doing for our baby yet (if it's a boy - still don't know).

Although, in my country, they dont.....sufficed to say, if i were born a boy, I bet mom and dad would have NOT snipped ME.
