Is everybody having a videographer for their wedding??

Ugggh I'm so sad and confused! Me and my fh were going over our fiances and it's looking like we may not be able to have a videographer. Especially since it's been a tough year with money and I have to buy a car. UGHHHHH

Do you think it's necessary?????

We are having one. It is usually less expensive than other things. I opted for more of a candle type centerpeice so I could have the video

Def, its key and will last forever. Does your photographer provide the service, if so maybe he can get you a better deal on it.

We felt the same exact way and were going to cut it from the wedding- but i talked to a couple people and we really want to do it. Figure how many times will your family get together like this and also you are so busy on your day- you are going to miss things.

most people said that you can get packages under 1000 if you look- but you can also try going to a local college- i know St. John's has a TV production class and you maybe able to hire a professor or student and save a lot and get good quality. hth

i personally wanted it and feel i needed it but everyone is different.

you can always get the smallest package from a videographer place.

but its how you feel...if you feel you want one maybe cut back on something else.

if u feel pics are enough...then let that be and save the money

will people be there video tapin the ceremony and reception (personal cameras)

if they are you can always ask a place to edit it for you after...or ask someone that knows how to edit do it...(like me) for free.

I wasn't big on having one but FH really wanted it and I'm glad we're doing it. I don't think it's necessary. A lot of people don't do it.

We got it because everyone said who didn't have one that they ended up regretting it, but I think its different for everyone, but thats something that you really can't get back, with pictures you can always make new albums or print more later when your more financially stable ya know? plus I defiantly want to be able to listen to our vows over and over again!

you can even maybe try just having a family member set one up at the ceremony and one at the reception on a tripod? I'm not sure how it would work, but it would be worth a shot!

well, I think if I had to choose between photo and video I would pic photos...it seems to be that you will look at them more often...plus maybe there are some family members who can do video for you. JMO

try rambling rose, they have packages for $999 and its a la carte so makes it easier to keep costs down.

And dont forget what i told you, only pay half of it before the wedding, i dont pay the other half until after the wedding when i received the tapes which can take months ...so if you get a package for $1000, 1200 you would only pay like $500-600 now

ALSO FOR ANY GIRLS who want it, how about trying craigslist for any film students willing to do it for a low price

I don't think we are having one. The photos were more important to us so we spent the money on that. We might change our mind later but for now I am afraid they will get in the photographers way.
