Is everybody having a videographer for their wedding??

Original post by Fausha

Ugggh I'm so sad and confused! Me and my fh were going over our fiances and it's looking like we may not be able to have a videographer. Especially since it's been a tough year with money and I have to buy a car. UGHHHHH

Do you think it's necessary?????

I'm on the fence about it. FI wants it. I'm more concern about the pictures than anything else. It's just most of the videos are cheesy and I really want it documentry style (i.e. A Wedding Story, Bridezillas) which really shows it no-frills, no cheesy effects, just true raw footage.

Maybe ask a friend or uncle or someone you know with a video camera to tape the ceremony and special parts of the reception so you have some of it on video. FH and I almost were going to have to do this, but then we went to a bridal event at The Fox Hollow and won videography for our wedding!

unless I find someone who won't make me give them my first born son and right kidney to film it, I'll be video-less. And even if I find one that is inexpensive, they want to put cheesy graphics (stars, bunnies, rainbows) & that will just not do.

I wish I could trust a relative to do it, but once the Jamaican rum hit's their system i'm liable to get shots of bootys than FH and I

FH and I also didn't want all the cheeseyness- we were looking to find someone to just shoot raw footage or just a home video before we won our package. now we don't care if its cheesey cus its free.

i am one of those people who will seriously watch it so many times!! someone suggested we cut it to save money, but i reallllly wanted it...and i want my kids to be able to watch it to!! so for us it is important. plus as the other girls have said, it's not too expensive, compared to other things!!

GL w your decision!!

we are going to have one but he is a friend of the family who might be doing it for free. I don't need anything crazy with montages...just something to look back on. If you feel its not in your budget maybe you can just ask a family member to try and get special moments on video...I'm sure they wouldn't mind

I didnt want to go without it - even though it would help our budget to skip it. Its just something nice to have for the future. So i decided to just get a very basic edited one - my photog only charged $1100 so i thought it was worth it.

i think were gonna have to skip it. Its just not looking possible right now. All these extra expenses keep popping up. I was thinking Id just have a family member record the important moments with a video camera. As much as Id hate to not have a professional video
