Is everybody having a videographer for their wedding??

Original post by Fausha

Ugggh I'm so sad and confused! Me and my fh were going over our fiances and it's looking like we may not be able to have a videographer. Especially since it's been a tough year with money and I have to buy a car. UGHHHHH

Do you think it's necessary?????

Try my videographer Halo Video..his packages start at $1000..he only requires a $100 deposit then half of the balance before the wedding. the other half you pay when you get the tape.

I don't think we are having one. The photos were more important to us so we spent the money on that. We might change our mind later but for now I am afraid they will get in the photographers way.

no they dont, i see it at weddings all the time and its fine...yesterday the wedding i went to had 4 photographers, i think maybe it was 3 and 1 was the DJs photographer plus videographer.

we have one cuz it was important to us

an alternative - get those disposable cameras that record video (i think theyre about $30 at cvs by kodak) and you can attach a card or something that says please record ___ (like your first kiss, your vows, cutting the cake, whatever u want) and hand them out to reliable guests

I did have a package with wedding world . But, I had to cancel some stuff from the package. Due, to some things we were unhappy with and our financial situation.

Thanks girls for your ideas and opinions!

Check out craigslist...

You can contact them and ask to see demos. You may be able to find some media students who do great affordable work. Good luck!craigslist

i def. feel like it's important to have video. But everyone is different. But i have heard a lot of people who didnt get it say they regret it later on.. so i'd say check out some more places. i'm sure you can get a good deal on just video..you don't need all the bells and whistles ..you can just get a basic one. Or maybe ask a student film maker or something who may be willing to do it for a few hundred bucks or just the experience

good luck

Yup, we hired 2 videographers in fact....I would rather video than pictures (if I HAD to choose).

we couldn't fit it into our budget either. It was a toss up between having a videographer or doing a bowling party for our friends right after the wedding.

We chose to hang out with our friends since we're expecting 300+ guests (mostly family and parents' friends).

But we did ask one of our more artistically inclined friends to videotape our ceremony for us, so at least we'll have that.

I was on the fence, we wound up using Pete from WEdding Cinema, it was really reasonable around $1200 and we were really happy we decided to do it since the day went by so fast. Pete was SO easy to work with, it was great. We are picking up the video next weekend, so can comment more on the product later, btu from the samples we watched, we aren't worried.

That's a really great idea and comprimise! At least you'll have your special words on tape!

We want to buy a new HD video camera and have our guests take turns with it or put it on a tripod. That way we can take it on our honeymoon and keep it afterward, instead of paying for someones time. We are waiting for black friday!

Though craigslist is a great idea too.

i am having two videographers at my wedding i think photos and videos are the most important part because the day goes TOO fast and those are your memories you can watch

unless I find someone who won't make me give them my first born son and right kidney to film it, I'll be video-less. And even if I find one that is inexpensive, they want to put cheesy graphics (stars, bunnies, rainbows) & that will just not do.

I wish I could trust a relative to do it, but once the Jamaican rum hit's their system i'm liable to get shots of bootys than FH and I

I didnt want one but then FH tired explaining the meaning of it to him. He thinks it's a nice touch and a way to see everything live again. So yup we're definetly getting it.
