I'm taking his last name. Until i got engaged I always just assumed I'd take his last name. Then a month ago I had an attack thinking i am disappearing. So for work , I am probably going to keep my last name, but I will legally take his. its also impt to him that i take it too.

Same here!!!! except it was also that my last name, which is very unique, will die away (and only be left in italy) when me and my 2 sisters become married.. All though I did ask if he wanted to take mine instead... that didn't go over too well!

I always dreamed of taking my husband's last name...until I met FH.

I have an awesome Italian last name...
His is English...and stupid.

I'm going to take his because I'm traditional...but I complain about it a lot

We're both changing our last names. We'll both be
My Last Name-His Last Name.

I like my last name, and I'm not comfortable with the idea of the girl having to take the guy's last name. That's just me though; I'm not very traditional at all.

I am so torn on this. I suggested we combine to become McDraskin

Seriously, I will likely hyphenate. It will be a looong name then, but I can't fathom completely giving up my maiden name. FH is a little old school on this but he knows its up to me. Even if I were to keep my maiden name professionally I'd be Draskin personally. I would take it as my middle name but I love my middle name. I just love my name as a whole
