Date twin... you should definately call tomorrow or do it soon, our weekend might be busy... look how many date twins we have! If you're thinking about it, you should... you don't want everything to be booked up!

Re: is everyone blocking rooms?
FH and I spent most of the day looking at hotels for our OOT guests...2 of the 3 hotels we went to allowed us to reserve a bunch of rooms, and if they don't all get booked by a certain date, we can cancel and not be charged.
So, we did this at both hotels since they each offer something slightly different (e.g., lower rate but no free breakfast and no free parking vs. higher rate but free breakfast and free parking). We also saw a cheaper motel, but the manager wasn't there to speak to about a better rate.
This way, we'll be able to offer our guests a choice of where they want to stay, and let them figure out what's best for their budget.

I think Wingate Inn by Wyndam provides a free shuttle to & from Larkfield if you book 10 rooms. I'm not sure if I'm using them because they are a lil far from the hall, etc!

Re: is everyone blocking rooms?
I didnt block off any rooms bc since it was aholidy weekend it was hard to even find any hotels not booked...Ones i called i had to guarantee 10 rooms in order to block them...So i just gave all the info to my friends and family and they have to book on there own if they want a room..there is only one hotel close by that actually has available rooms!!!

Re: is everyone blocking rooms?
we are for 3 reasons: 1) discount for groups and 2) lots of out of town guests 3) wedding is at night on a holiday weekend.
if your guests are mostly locals you might ot need a block.

Re: is everyone blocking rooms?
We blocked because we have a lot of OOTers. However, a lot of people who live locally have been telling us they are going to stay over so they don't have to worry about not drinking. I would feel people out and block if you see it necessary.

I have not done this yet how far in advance do you have to do this? Do you have to go to the hotels to talk to someone or can you do it over the phone?

Re: is everyone blocking rooms?
I would do it, like someone said for the bridal party and sometimes you get to stay in the honeymoon suite for free if you block enough rooms. I would definitely consider it since you're getting married on a really popular date/weekend. It will guarantee that your guests will have some place to stay if they decide.
