I love Hey Ya too! My FH jokes that should be our wedding song because I annoy him by singing it all the time. In all seriousness though, I would love it if they played it at our wedding.

Am I the only person who hates this song? (Don't throw tomatoes.) FI had to learn it for a wedding last weekend, and I covered my ears and whined the whole time, going, 'Who would want this played at their wedding? It's so dumb and repetitive!' I see I am in the minority.

DJ 's usually filter out those words before hand just tell them you want that song and to keep it clean just dont wait till the wedding day to tell them... My DJ did it for me for a few songs...

when i hear it, I don't think of the words. I just think of it as a fun song to dance to while I'm driving. (yup, i'm one of THOSE people!!) I don't think people will think, 'oh isn't that a song about...' or whatever. Its fun and it has such a great beat.

I dont think people realy listen to the words that much they justreally like the beat. My soon to be step son loves that song because he likes to 'Shake it, shake like a polaroid picture' LOL So I think its ok

I think its a great party song, but not necessarily appropriate for a wedding. Though - I really dont think anyone realizes what the lyrics are about.

I LOVE this song...it's currently my favorite. I've never actually known what the heck the song was about until now...
I would still play it at my wedding...it's a song that is going to have all of your guests dancing to it...no matter what it's about...I doubt anyone is going to understand what the heck they're saying...just like I didn't...LOL!!!
I wish I would've remembered to ask my DJ to play this song... .

I LOVE this song. It really gets me in the mood to shake it! I say just play whatever you want and what you feel YOUR crowd will get on the dance floor to. No one is going to be listening to the lyrics. I don't even listen to the lyrics all I do is dance to it! I don't think it matters if its a played out song or not. There are quite a few old songs that are played at weddings and they are played out. But they get people on the dance floor and that is the key and if you like it and it will get YOU and Your FH on the floor than everyone will follow.

Uh no. It's not a dance club - you have to skip some of your favorites because they are inappropriate. I'vebeen to weddings where so many inappropriate songs were played and we still talk about it. My vote is definitely no. i asked FI and he said no too.
