Is Hey Ya by Outkast approriate for a wedding?

IT'S MY FAVORITE SONG!!!! But there's those lines 'Don't wanna meet your Daddy, just want you in my caddy' 'Don't wanna meet your mamma, just wanna make you cumma' -

Does anyone know if the clean verison cuts those out?

they can bleep or mix another song into it to remove the 'questionable' lyrics...just let them know

I don't know if it's about divorce - it is about breaking up, i doubt the people in it are married. Anyway, I really don't care - it's an amazing song!

I think the video is hilarious.

I doubt anyone likely to be offended would be able to hear or decipher the words anyway. But if you're going to worry about it, save yourself the worrying time and skip it!

If you love the song you should def play it! I played a lot of songs that I porbably shouldnt have, but they were a lot of fun!

I had to bump this thread to let you all know that I saw Top Shelf tonight & they opened with Hey ya!
I thought it was an inersting choice.--& immediately thought of this thread.

They must have learned it quickly.

I'm pretty sure the DJ played it at my wedding--sorry, don't really remember because it was all such a blur! But, it is one of my MOM's favorite songs!!! She was also into Shaggy for a while (Wasn't Me). She starts singing them and then says 'Oh my gosh, did you hear what he said? I think this is a bad song!!'

It has grown on me. At first I couldn't stand it but now it is ok. People will dance and that is what is important!!! It's a party song!!!!

my parents are over 50 and they just went to 2 weddings and my dad wouldnt stop talking about that song.... he wants the CD!!!!!! i love that song and my band can sing it i think

I think its a great catchy song that makes people want to dance. I am planning on having it played at my wedding. I think half the time if the beat is catchy , sometimes people don't even listen to the words.
