After reading the responses to the article that LEELEE posted it seems as though there are some mixed reviews as to whether or not he should have been attacked.
Tell me, are you ladies against violence in any form?
Has there ever been a time where you have lost it hit someone and regretted it later?

For everytime I hit someone it was bc they pushed me past the limit of no return..

I''ve never hit anyone but I''ve been on the receiving end in an abusive relationship. I was too ignorant and naive to hit back. But, if given the chance today (and I know never to put myself in that situation again), I would hit and not regret it if it were deserved.

I am a non-confrontational person, period. I don''t even like to raise my voice. But as T said, there are times when you are pushed too far. So yes, I have to say that if anything in my life ever got to that point, I''d punch away and not regret it.
I remember being SEVERELY drunk one night in the city with my DH (he was only my BF then) and we got in a bad fight and I slapped him. I have never ever felt worse about anything in my entire life. I can''t even think about it... the only justification is that I was so drunk I could barely stand, so obviously my head wasn''t in the right place.
One promise I have made to myself (and my DH has also made) is to NEVER hit our kids, once we have them. That will never ever happen.
But in a situation where I was threatened, like the girls in Leelee''s story, I would definitely have to get PHYSICAL!!!

no I disagree...never ok to hit...attack...
defending is not the same as hitting...its protecting your face, body...

I think everyone has a right to defend themselves, and sometimes that means hitting back.
in the article thread, I disagreed with the girls behavior because the man was NOT violent. They did not have to get violent to get justice.
And while women are physically abused much more then men, I don''t think women turning the violence on men makes up for that.

I have never gone out looking for any fights, but that doesn''t mean that I won''t hit someone back.

Since I train in the Martial Arts I will say that hitting is ok, but only in defense. I will not physically start a fight, but I will damn sure finish one if I am attacked.

I don''t hit anyone, although I have gotten into somewhat of a physical fight with a friend''s younger sister who does not know how to keep her mouth shut and decided to hit me first! Needless to say I took control over the situation and she learned her lesson. But I do not advocate violence at all.

I agree larryswife. If I feel as though my safety is in danger or someone else hits first you will need more then a bandaid to feel better. Not that I would do anything drastic, but I get very loud and my tone of voice changes. Almost evil sounding.
way back when I was dating this jerk and he threw a kitchen chair at me. Needless to say I was outta there.
am I the only person who has never been in a fight?

I''ve never been in a fight (unless you count the fights my sister and I as kids - but those were more about digging her nails into me, not hitting).

I would never be the first one to hit. But if someone outright attacked me, and my life or body was in danger, you can bet your a$$ I''m going to fight back with all I''ve got.

I think defense is one thing but I wouldn''t just hit someone because they pissed me off.

Well, I say, hit if you need to. I dated this guy when I was a teenager and he was extremely abusive towards me. I was 16 and he was 18 and he used to kick me in the back if I was on the floor, he used to grab me by the arm until I could see his hand print, he would smack me, and punch me. After about a year of hiding my bruises from my mother and everyone else, I looked at him one day and CRACKED HIM ONE IN HIS NOSE. I broke it. And I''ll never in my life regret it and I hope he rots in hell. (I''m not a violent person, by the way. But I can only take so much. Luckily, I learned from that experience.)

I have never had a real fight except with my cousins, but if someone comes at you, by all means defend yourself or run I was never one for violence, I never want to get my hair messed up or my face scratched
