The place i am in love with I can only afford on a sunday. The other place i like i can afford on a saturday night. Is it worth it to give up a sat night to have it at the place i luv? I am worried people will not like coming to a sunday wedding and will think i am being cheap even though the sunday place costs twice as much as the saturday one.... what should i do?

Re: Is It bad to get married on a sunday?
IMO The first thing is you need to stop worrying about what other people will think - your wedding is a day to celebrate the marriage of your FH and yourself - not which night costs more or who will be impressed or not If you like one place more than another - go for it - you will see that with all the planning and decisions to be made - things add up too! I am getting married on a Sunday, not because it is less expensive, but because of a multitude of reasons - and I really couldn't care less if people think I am cheap - we are spending more per person than most CH on Sat night Anyway - sorry so long - but make the decision in the end based on what YOU and your FH like, not your guests - they will be, or at least should be - happy to see you married ANYWHERE!

I had my wedding on a Sunday because I wanted to save my parents money, since they were paying for it all.
I wouldn't care what anyone thinks about your wedding. If they don't want to go, they don't have to. Just my opinion.

Re: Is It bad to get married on a sunday?
Sundays are really really common! I mean for christians, the big wedidng night is saturdya, but for jewish people, a saturday wedding is inconceivable most times of the year. So saturdya is not the ONLY night for a wedidng. I'm going through this too. I either ahve to change my hall, or change my date to sunday, and I really don't want ot change either so I'm struggling with it..but my ultimate decison if I have to change something will be to change the date. I mean the date really doens't matter in terms of the quality of your event, but the location is a HUGE factor.

I am having a Sunday evening wedding (Martin Luther King weekend). I don't think it's bad. Even though some might be inconvenienced, those who love us and are happy for us will be there. I personally don't care what anyone else thinks. FI and I are paying for the wedding ourselves so we need to be conscious of our budget. I think that you should make your decision based on how you and your FI feel and not worry about others. It's your day and you need to be happy!

Don't worry about what other's will think...this is YOUR wedding...If people don't want to come bc of that reason, they are not close enough to you & then they don't deserve to be there...Sunday wedding are very common nowadays due to the rise in wedding costs...I am going to a Sunday evening wedding in 2 weeks...I will be honest, I am not a fan of them but that would not stop me from going!

like lady princess would say...your day your way. you need to do what's best for you. i have a saying that a lot of people agree with me, if someone wants to be somewhere they will. since your family and friends love you, they'll attend your wedding no matter what day it is

Re: Is It bad to get married on a sunday?
HI, FH and I weighed all the options and we decided to go ahead with a Sunday wedding... we got all the x-tras and are paying a littles less then what it cosets for the basic per plate cost for a Sunday. We decided not to have a Vienese (SP??) hour as it would be a little late and we didn't want to have guests leaving really late. Our CH (which we extended to 90 minutes ) begins at 4:30 and the reception is over by 10pm, IMO I don't think that is too late for most ppl. Ultimately it is your choice, I would suggest to go with your heart as we all hope that the party will be so good that no matter what time it is no one will want the party to end!
GOOD LUCK!!

Re: Is It bad to get married on a sunday?
I wanted sunday july 2 (i figured many people would have off on that monday for 4th of july ) but EVERYONE had my idea because many of the places i looked were already booked for that date... I went with the Saturday which is more money...butreally if you do a sunday on a holiday weekend it wont be too much of a difference in price..
go with what YOU really want...if it is a sunday and people dont want to come because of it then you dont want them there anyway! IMO

That's exactly what we did...the place didn't have my Sat nt date, so we went with Sunday. Like everyone says, those that want to be there will...
To thank everyone, I am prepared a 'Monday morning survival kit' filled with coffee, No Doz (lol) something for breakfast and a few other things....
I am sure it won't be the first time any of your guests have stayed out a little late on a 'work night' LOL
Good luck and do what YOU want!!!
