Is it bridezilla to request a haircut? (for someone ELSE)
Original post by candybride123
My ringbearer (a close cousin) who is 2 y/o has always had adorable long curly locks but now his parents have let it go past cute and into just weird/ wayyy too long.
In recent pics it looks messy and in his eyes.
I know this sounds so bridezilla, right?
I mentioned something about how his hair got straighter- HOPING that someone would make the connection that the length is weighing down what used to be light/airy and ADORABLE curls- but no one knew what I was saying.
I feel like I can't say 'get him a haircut'!!
I mean, I wouldn't try and impose a certain style on a 2 year old kid if it wasn't for the fact that his hair looks ridiculous to me (as well as to a few other people I asked i.e our grandma and my FH)

No one is going to care what the kid's hair looks like. They will see him and think 'Ohhh look how cute he is'. I dont think it's anyone's place to tell a parent how to keep/groom their child. Although you may not like it, his parents probably do.

I am asking my dad to get a haricut. His hair is not ridiculous but it is longer than I like. I am asking him to get a clean cut look for the wedding so he doesn't look crazy in the pictures...lol I don't really care if that is bridezilla but I don't think it is,

It's different bc you are asking an adult, not making a demand on someone's child.

I will also just throw out there that when my grandma went down there (Florida) for grandparents day the teacher mentioned to her that he is constantly pushing the hair out of his face and she thinks it is a distraction.
She mentioned it to my aunt and said that the teacher suggested a rubberband or something but my aunt ignored it. My uncle most likely doesn't know that ever happened (they don't have the best relationship but that's another thread haha)
On one hand it says to me well she REALLY won't cut it - on the other hand it validates my point that the hair is extreme!
But yeah, like I said before I think I'm gonna suggest a bit of styling so it's not like trying to force my aunt to 'cut'.

Absotootely bridezilla!
He is not your child and therefore requesting a haircut could be the ultimate insult to the parents. ITA w/Espo's statement.

well are his parents the kind of people who you think would take offense? You could bring it up but tred carefully. But you know them and how they are, so use your best judgement.

it does sound a little bridezilla-ish but if you were really close to the couple then i'm sure they wouldn't mind you being blunt about it.

Try to get grandma to blurt it out and ask them, no one gets mad at grandma and you'll be off the hook and have your icebreaker

hmmmm....could the mens wedding party have a 'trip to an old fashioned barber shop for pictures' the day of? It might make for some cool groomsmen pictures...and surprise a free haircut?

Can you bring it up as not part of the wedding - but just as an aunt-like comment? Like maybe find a picture from a few months ago when the length was good and talk about how adorable his hair looked at that length. Maybe they will get the hint that way.
