yes. without knowing your specific situation.
If there is a vendor at the wedding, you should feed him. Why are you only feeding one member of the band - are you realted to him??

Why would you feed the keyboardist and no one else is my first question. Secondly, yes, it's 'cheap' or 'tacky' or whatever you want to call it. Those people are working for many hours, often straight through what would be dinnertime, etc. They need to eat.
Also, you want them to be at their peak for performance. Not feeding them is a surefire way to assure they will not be.

Yes...what are your reasons for only wanting to feed him? IMO I think its rude to not feed the vendors...

Yeah, without any details, it kind of sounds it. I don't know how you could face the rest of the musicians if you only fed one, but not the rest of them. In the grand scheme of all the money we're spending on weddings, feeding several band members likely won't be the thing that throws you over the edge.

The keyboardist will be performing beginning to end the rest of the band only 4 hours. I don;t think its necessary to feed them since they will start at 7:30. Is that OK?

you should feed them all. your hall may offer a discounted plate, but i would ask the band first if that is OK.

Regardless...they will still be there for four hours...how rude is it going to look while the keyboardist is eating and the band is standing there eating????

Its not really a price issue I just want my music to be 'continuous' and the band having a meal takes away from that.

The band members fainting from hunger may have the same effect...

it can still be continuous - most bands play softer stuff during meals - so half can leave during appetized and half can leave during dinner

Maybe you can work something out where they will take turns eating that way there is continuous music all night.

Yeah, I think you can see that regardless of the reason, most of us just think it's not worth saving $ or not giving a break to the band. Try and think of it this way, what if your fh was one of the musicians--would you want someone to feed him? They're going to take a break at somepoint, whether you feed them or not, so please feed them.

They'll be eating while your guests are eating...durning that time I'm sure they'l have some kind of dinner music playing...plus no of your guests are going to want to dance while dinner is being served? Whats the point of having a sit down dinner if you want everyone to be dancing the entire time? Why are you paying all that money for no one to eat????
