Re: Is it customary to tip the seamstress?
I might have, except at my 2nd fitting I discovered she hemmed the dress too short. Hoping there's enough fabric left to have a decent inside hem when it's fixed. . So, she's not getting tipped. Too much stress and near tears experience to warrant tipping!

I did for mine. She was quite surprised that I tipped her and was quite thankful. But I've read that it's not necessary but of course always appreciated.

I'm not planning on tipping mine, she owns her own business. But, if she blows me away with awesome alterations (my dress needs a lot of work), I will tip.

I don't think it is customary but if they do an excellent job I would tip. I plan on tipping mine.
