bridesmaids to wear a t-length dress for a saturday night wedding or should they be wearing a floor length gown??
Someone is telling me that the dresses are called T-length, because they can be worn during tea time, which would be in the afternoon... not evening?? So, should i totally rule out that length since my wedding is on a Sat night??

I was thinking of T lengths as well because Im getting married in July.
April might be cold for T length though, right?

Broke out the Bev Clark book: It looks like it depends on how formal your wedding is going to be:
Very formal -200 guest or more after 6pm: Long dress, gloves, any style bouquet, shoes to match or harmonize
Formal - 100 guests or more after 6pm:similar to very formal, but dresses are sometimes shorter, gloves are optional
Semi-Formal- 100 guests or fewer after 6pm: Elaborate street length dresses, small bouquets
Personally, I think it depends are your taste and you should do what makes you happy!

I feel like my girls would be more likely to re-wear a T-length dress versus a full length one... One of my biggest peaves of being a BM for my aunts and uncles weddings was spending SO much $$ on a dress that I would NEVER ever wear again... but someone keeps telling me that T length dresses won't be formal enough for my Sat night wedding, and that I shouldn't even consider them...

I say do what you want. If you think the girls would be happier with t-length dresses, because they'd be able to wear them again, then go for it. Just because one person is telling you it isn't right doesn't mean that it isn't. That's their opinion and you don't have to listen.

I thought about doing tea length dresses because a lot of the ones I saw were really cute. However, since I'm doing either black tie or black tie optional, I feel like it would be a little weird if my guests were dressed more formally (in floor length gowns) than my BMs, you know?

i think you can do whatever you want.
my wedding is a sunday morning and people tell me i 'should' do tea length. but a few of my girls have tattoos that they wanted to cover plus i found a floor length dress that i liked.
go against the silly 'rules'

I am having the same dilema... I love the T-length dresses (one in particular) but I keep being pushed away from it because my reception will be large, formal, and after 8pm.
In the end, I guess you can do what you want. There are no laws about this sort of thing but, you also don't want to do something that is totally inappropriate either.
Good Luck! I will deal with this next week when I FINALLY go with MOH to try dresses on.

I think you should do what you like best, but make sure the girls are more dressed up than your guests will be.

Uh, Who cares! If its what you want for your girls...then so be it. Its your wedding and your day. I plan on having my BM's wear tea-lenghts for a Fri nite wedding in April.
Its MY day!!!!
Go for it! Not inappropiate at all!

I am having a Sat night black tie affair. My girls are wearing tea length dresses because- I like the dress and they like the dress.. who cares.. My BM dresses are in my album if you want to see.
I think anything goes and as long as you feel the dress itself is appropriate for your affair- you're good to go.
