i think it's a nice touch and nice way to thank people for making a trip just for you.
it's not that much money - i think our's came to about $50 for 11 of them.
But if you can't do them, that's fine too - most people don't expect them.....

What exactly would you put in a hotel bag? Shampoo and whatnot?

Re: is it ok if you don't do

we got cheap white gift bags from party city...
then went to Target and bought some candy, chips, bottles of water and playing cards.....stuffed it all in the bad and left them at the desks for the guests to pick up when they checked in.....

That's actually a pretty cute idea, but I think I'll wait until closer to the wedding to see how our budget is.

I agree with Palebride...it is a nice gesture. If you are almost out of money (as most of us are) how about baking cookies and putting them wrapped up nicely? It is always nice to have munchies when you are in your hotel room late night after a wedding.

At my friend wedding last week, she put a bottle of wine in a pretty bag in each guests room. She included a saying thanking everyone for sharing their special day. It was a big hit!! I think they were less than $10 each!!

We did not do them. I just ran out if time. Nobody seemed to care.

We did them, our guests thought it was a nice touch. They were pretty reasonable. I bought nice wicker baskets and filled them with bottles of water, cookies, different types of chips, an array of pain relievers and wrapped them with cellophane and ribbon. I bought everything in bulk from Sam's Club (which is like a Costco or BJ's).
