My Fiance and I booked our hall, but we never had a tasting.. We've heard the food is fabulous, and weren't that worried about it.. But.. now it's come down to our mothers, and they want to help us pay but they want a tasting, so is it ok to call my hall, and ask for a tasting, even though we already booked.. Everytime I call, I feel like I'm bothering them.. They don't act that way, I just feel that way.. The guy is really sweet, I guess because it's a year away, but anyway.. what do you'll think??? thanks

I didn't book until I got a tasting. So if you have already booked, you are entitled to one.

Call them---most reception halls will gladly have a tasting for you.

Nothing wrong with asking. I think most reception halls will be very accomodating.

Re: is it ok to request a tasting
We are shopping around at the halls and are asking for a tasting at all of them. The only one who discouraged a tasting was Majestic Gardens, they said only at showcases they have food?

I'm booked at East Winds also!!! I was told that they do not do tastings because they have bridal expos every other month. Since you are booked with them you get into the bridal showcase for free. There is a good sampling of the food. You could ask them ans see what thet say. Let me know.

Re: is it ok to request a tasting
I would ask them for a tasting. My hall told me about four months before the wedding we would have a tasting so we could choose the food we want.

Definitely- I think that's when you're supposed to request it- to figure out what you want to put on your menu. I'm going to request one in the next month (wedding in May).

You are definitely entitled to a tasting, if for no other reason then to pick dishes. Not to mention, you have nothing to lose by asking.
