to invite adults only to your wedding, but have your two ringbearers and flower girl stay for the reception when other children are not invited?

Not rude at all. FH & I are doing it also. 90% of the weddings that I have been too are like that and I must admit, things go alot smoother.

Re: is it rude...
absolutely not--only my niece was invited--she was the FG
a word of advice--DO NOT let anyone make you think its rude!!!!! to be honest i think its beyond rude to TELL someone who they should invite to THEIR wedding. and some ppl don't realize that is exactly what they are doing when they say 'well why can't little sally come? if she can't go--i can't go. i can't find a sitter'
in 2 years of planning---i fought about this issue for about oh---TWO YEARS. family felt they could try and push me and tell me what to do. (DHs SIL had the balls to cross out the 2 on the RSVP that we sent for them showing the # of seats we reserved..and put a 7!)
stand your ground---don't let them bully you!

It's definetly not rude. Those children are in your wedding party and therefore an important part of the wedding.

I agree...ive had trouble with figuring out how we're going to do this but i think we will do just our RB and FG...if we let everyone bring their kids we might end up with about 30 kids and thats a bit much, not to mention it will cost me a couple thousand dollars to invite kids.
I also think its rude for others to get mad at us about who we invite.
hopefully people will understand or get over it

We have a few children who will be attending our reception. Our RH hall was very good in planning a childrens menu for us. They are charging us $10 per child including all beverages. Under the age of 4 was no charge!
