i dont think its rude. the only reason there are kids is becase they are part of the wedding. People will just have to understand. I dodnt have kids other than direct family and the youngest was 9.

It's not rude at all. Actually, my FG will be leaving after the ceremony. As it stands now, children at welcome at the ceremony, which will be at the RH, but will leave immediately after the ceremony. My FG's mother is also my best friend and she's perfectly OK with that. Her parents are going to take the children home. What is RUDE is when people attempt to force you into changing your plans. Remember - do what YOU and FH want. It's your day!!!! Don't let anyone bully you into doing what you don't want. I've had extensive conversations with my close friends with children and they prefer to go out and have a good time and not worry about chasing their kids around.

to invite adults only to your wedding, but have your two ringbearers and flower girl stay for the reception when other children are not invited?

i dont think so, if they are i nyour wedding thats fine...as long as no other children who are not in your wedding are invited

nope, that's what we're doing, and what a lot of other couples on here and who I know in person are doing.

Nope, that's what we're doing too. I think most of the parents will want to be child-free anyway!

Not at all.. the only child we're having at our wedding is our Flower Girl (FH's niece) because she's part of the bridal party.

Otherwise it's strictly no children at all... we want the adults to be able to enjoy themselves.

no..it's not rude. that's what we did. those children are in the bridal party and it's expected that they are at the reception.

no...not at all...it is your day and the children you choose to stay the day or night are directly involved in your wedding...big difference from just having kids in general...i say do what you want!

Along the same lines...

FH and I were not planning on having all the extended family kids there, only my niece and nephew and his niece but after talking to everyone, it seems like they are planning on bringing their kids. We haven't sent the invites yet, but I am sure we are going to piss some people off if we say adults only.

How do we go about this delicately?

not at all.. I think it is totally fine! They are in your wedding party and that does not count.

Happy Planning!
